A Trip to the World Heritage Site "Jomon Prehistoric Sites in Northern Japan" (^^)/
In January of this year, in response to a note prompt, I featured the "Jomon Prehistoric Sites in Northern Japan" as a place I want to visit at least once.
To make that dream a reality, I excitedly researched the places I wanted to go and see, and I also reached out to my children (who are independent adults now, haha). By telling them early on, we were able to make it happen, so I went to JTB as soon as April arrived to consult with them.
For regular trips, whether it's a trip with my husband or a family vacation, we usually book hotels ourselves. In particular, I often book through the hotel's official website because it's cheaper.
However, since we are traveling as a family of four this time and the places we want to visit are far and spread out, I went to JTB this April intending only to consult with them at first ☆彡
I was satisfied with their quick and polite response at that time, so I asked JTB to book the Shinkansen and hotels.
They found the hotels I wanted near the places I wanted to visit, and I even asked them to book the troublesome Shinkansen tickets.
For 4 people, 5 days and 4 nights (2 nights in Aomori, 2 nights in Hakodate), including the Shinkansen fare, the payment of 481,000 yen was completed using my husband's card.
After that, I entered a busy period, and when I was thinking about planning the trip at the end of June, a piece of information caught my eye.
It was information that a certain exhibition would be held at the "Tohoku History Museum" in Miyagi Prefecture.

And it's being held exactly during the dates we are going❗
In the first place, even though the Goggle-eyed Dogu was excavated in Aomori, it is usually exhibited at the "Tokyo National Museum" (that's why I went to Tokyo recently to see it, but it wasn't on display that day, so I couldn't meet the real thing 💦), so even if I went to the local area in Aomori, I was planning to see a replica. But if the real thing is going to be exhibited, I thought, "I have to go!" When I looked into it, I found out that I could go if I got off at Sendai on the way from Omiya to Hachinohe, so I called JTB for advice.
I made a consultation appointment for the 17th the other day and went with my husband.
Since we had originally booked a JTB hotel & Shinkansen set, I was told that if we wanted to get off midway, we would have to cancel it once and rebook it.
I was also told that you can't book a set with a hotel if you take the Shinkansen from Sendai (I don't understand the meaning, but it seems to be a JTB rule...), but I told them I still wanted to go, and in the direction of canceling the set booking, I first had them check if the hotel could be booked under the same conditions, and I found out that I could rebook it now, so they secured it for me immediately ♪ (#^ー°)v
Since the rental car wasn't part of the set, the reservation remained as is, and the Shinkansen fare of 116,800 yen was refunded to my husband's card on the spot.
Although the hotel price went up a little compared to the set booking (there was an early 60-day discount in April, but it became an early 45-day discount when rebooking), they said they wouldn't charge any fees or cancellation charges for this response. I'm grateful.
It's unavoidable that it became more expensive because we requested the change (*´σー`)hehe
At JTB, I had booked both the Shinkansen and the rental car while considering the itinerary, but since I decided to get off at Sendai and go to the "Tohoku History Museum," I had to rethink the first day's itinerary, so I ended up re-searching the entire itinerary myself...
Yesterday, I spent almost the whole day reviewing the itinerary and making the necessary reservations ♪ (#^ー°)v
I decided to book the Shinkansen online one month in advance, so I considered the departure and arrival times for that, as well as the rental car pickup and return times.
I also decided on places to have lunch (focusing on the museum if there is one there) and was able to make the necessary reservations (^^)/
Previously, I had everyone in the family departing from Omiya, but since my daughter lives in Nasushiobara, I decided she wouldn't go all the way to Omiya but go directly to Sendai, and we also discussed and decided that she would get off at Sendai on the way back!
Originally, I was supposed to receive 30,000 yen each from my two children as travel expenses (though it's a huge service, haha), so my daughter will pay for her own fare to Sendai, and I'll offset it by receiving 20,000 yen (lol)
I am currently sharing the itinerary I made yesterday with my family and having them review it.
As of now, the planned destinations, Jomon-related sites & hotels are as follows 🎵
◎ "Tohoku History Museum" (Miyagi Prefecture)

◎ "Hachinohe City Museum of Archaeology / Korekawa Jomon Museum" (Aomori Prefecture)

You can see this national treasure dogu at the "Tohoku History Museum" (´∀`*)ufufu
I mean, if we hadn't stopped by Sendai, we wouldn't have been able to see it 💦
◎ "Goshono Jomon Museum" (Aomori Prefecture)

◎ "Special Historic Site Sannai-Maruyama Site" (Aomori Prefecture)

◎ "Hakodate Jomon Culture Center" (Hokkaido)

◎ Kakinoshima Site

◎Ofune Site

There were other 'Jomon-related' places I wanted to visit in Hakodate, but since I'm having the kids tag along this time, this is as far as we're going with Jomon (lol) ← Although, even this is still centered around a 'Jomon tour' (´∀`*)ufufu
But I think this shows just how much Mom and Dad are into 'Jomon,' and I hope the kids will also become interested in 'Jomon' (⋈◍>◡<◍).✧♡
Of course, it's not just about 'Jomon,' other than that...
◎ 'Hakodateyama Ropeway'
We're going to see the night view (#^.^#)
We went to the 'Hakodateyama Ropeway' on a family trip when the kids were small, but it was raining and we couldn't see the night view well, so this time is for revenge.
I know the summit of Mt. Hakodate gets extremely crowded, so this time I splurged and booked a course at the summit restaurant.
If it's clear, we can enjoy a meal while looking at the spectacular view 🧡

◎ 'Trappistine Convent'
We went to the 'Trappist Monastery' on our last trip to Hokkaido, but this is our first time at the 'Trappistine Convent' 💕
The 'Trappist Monastery' is one of the few male monasteries in the country, and the 'Trappistine Convent' is a female convent.

◎ 'Goryokaku Tower' and 'Goryokaku Park'
and so on are planned.

Accommodations for the 4-night, 5-day trip 🎵
◎ September 3rd (Wed) 'Aomoriya by Hoshino Resorts'
One of the hotels I've always wanted to visit.
The JTB overall rating is 90 points. This place has high scores in all categories. The best part is the food, with 90 points. Personally, for 'Aomoriya,' the activity I absolutely wanted to see'Michinoku Matsuriya'was booked, so I'm looking forward to it 👏👏👏
◎ September 4th (Thu) 'Hotel JAL City Aomori'
The JTB overall rating is 82 points. The breakfast is particularly well-rated at 87 points.
The morning buffet is said to be delicious.
On the night of our stay, we plan to have a toast at a nearby izakaya (´∀`*)ufufu
◎ September 5th (Fri) 'La Vista Hakodate Bay (Kyoritsu Resort)'
JTB overall rating 87 points. The breakfast is particularly well-rated at 89 points. I'm looking forward to the morning buffet. It's close to Mt. Hakodate, and I'm lucky that the bus from the ropeway stops right in front of the hotel 💗
◎ September 6th (Sat) 'Hakodate Yunokawa Onsen Umi to Akari / Hewitt Resort'
The JTB overall rating is 83 points. The large public bath is particularly well-rated at 88 points.
The infinity bath overlooking the Tsugaru Strait is said to be famous.
We'll relax with dinner included at the hot spring (´∀`*)ufufu

Our family has been to Hokkaido and Miyagi Prefecture before, but this is our first time landing in Aomori Prefecture (lol)
Since this is our second time in Hokkaido, we are only visiting Hakodate this time, so I hope to visit various other places someday (#^.^#)
Maybe the next one will be a trip for just my husband and me... 🎵
Lately, every time I plan a trip, I wonder how many more times the four of us in the family will be able to travel together, so even if this trip ends up being a huge expense, I want to make it the best trip and create the best memories (#^.^#)
First of all, I will keep praying that we all stay healthy to welcome that day, and hopefully (lol), that the weather will be nice (´∀`*) hehe

Thank you for coming to visit
again this time
