If I had money, what would I spend it on?☆彡 That would be....
I don't really have much of a 'desire for material things'.
There isn't much I want to buy.
I don't want jewelry, brand-name goods, clothes, or shoes.
I only need to buy clothes when my size changes, or a few items each season if necessary.
I don't want any home appliances either. I sometimes think I'd like a Blu-ray or DVD player, but it's not a problem at all if I don't have one.
In our house, we only buy home appliances when they break, of course (lol).
Instead, when we do buy something, we research it thoroughly to choose a good one.
Even with cars, I start thinking about replacing them once they've been driven over 100,000 kilometers.
However, I love the car I'm driving now, I never get tired of it, and since I've been driving less since retiring, I might just keep driving my beloved car until I return my driver's license (lol).
When I was working, I would sometimes go on shopping sprees after watching TV shopping or looking at mail-order catalogs.
But now, even when I watch TV shopping or look at mail-order catalogs (they still get sent to me because I used to buy from them💦), I don't want anything.
On the contrary, I make it a goal to reduce the number of things I own every day.
I can't become a minimalist, but I want to be one‼️
My husband doesn't have much of a 'desire for material things' either.
His only hobbies are buying 'wristwatches' and 'delicious alcohol'...
And perhaps both of us don't hesitate to 'buy books'.
My husband also likes to read.
As for me, if someone recommends a book, I end up buying it... (Only when it comes to books do I give in to the urge to read😅).
But now, I try to buy them on 'Mercari' or choose used books as much as possible.
Even so, they sometimes end up as unread books, so I want to make sure I don't just feel satisfied with the purchase (lol).
Although we don't have a 'desire for material things', we as a couple have one thing we 'want to spend money on'...
That is,
'Going on trips!!'
This is the only time our couple and family spend money luxuriously😄
Last year, we went on trips almost every month, except for August.
If you ask why we spend money on traveling, going to concerts, and eating delicious food at those destinations...
Actually, there is a reason for this.
And that reason is....
Since February of last year, I have had a series of health issues☆彡
I have written about this on note before, but
there was a time when my poor health continued, and I spent over a month visiting various medical departments.
Internal medicine, gynecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, orthopedics...
I was so busy going to the hospital that there was almost no department I didn't visit...
I originally had cysts in my thyroid, mammary glands, and ovaries, and I am also someone who needs regular stomach checkups (atrophic gastritis).
When my health deteriorated and I went to the gynecologist, I was told there was a 'suspicion of a malignant tumor,' so I had a detailed examination at a large hospital.
As a result, for now, it was determined to be a 'benign tumor' rather than a 'malignant tumor,' so I am under observation and go to the hospital once every three months, but
when I told my husband, 'It wasn't malignant this time either,'
my husband cried tears of a man.
'If you had been told it was malignant, I wanted to take Keiko to various places before you couldn't move anymore,' he said...
And we hugged each other and cried...
'We're so lucky,' we said☆彡
That's when it started.
My husband began saying,
'Where should we go next month?'
'Let's go here this month!'
and we started planning trips together...
We were both people who loved traveling to begin with, but we had assumed that 'we wouldn't get sick,' but after learning that we never know what might happen to either of us,
we decided to go where we want to go, eat what we want to eat, see and hear beautiful things, be happy, and enjoy ourselves.
We decided to cherish our time as a couple and as a family, and to live without regrets.
What we both want to do now, as I have written before, is a 'World Heritage Tour'...
We have almost visited all the World Heritage sites in Japan with just a few left.
We hope to go abroad someday, but in this COVID-19 pandemic, there is still no outlook.
However, there are still many wonderful places within the country that I haven't visited yet.
Last year, I couldn't travel far and was mostly limited to places I could reach by car, but once the outlook for the pandemic becomes clearer, I might be able to go to the destinations I'm aiming for.
But the way we travel and what travel means have changed from before.
In the past, I often took trips with packed schedules, arriving at the hotel before dinner and starting early the next day to visit more spots, but
lately, I've been taking more slow and relaxed trips rather than traveling to see many different places.
I arrive at the hotel at check-in time and relax there until the very last minute before check-out.
Basically, I choose hotels with hot springs.

That's why I choose luxurious hotels and fully enjoy the hotel life.
Even after checking out, I might see just one thing before heading home, and once I'm back, I do some tidying up and laundry, and we often have dinner at home.
Especially when my husband has work the next day, we don't push ourselves.
Even when traveling, the feeling of wanting more and more has faded away.
It would be counterproductive to end up exhausted after going through the trouble of taking a trip.
“That was fun,”
“That made us happy,”
“That was delicious,”
We enjoy conversations like that,
and talk about, “Where should we go next?”
That conversation is also fun.
So, the reason I have no “material desires” is
because I feel that what I have now is enough,
and if I'm going to spend money, I want to use it to stay at a wonderful hotel and enjoy delicious hotel cuisine.
Now then, where should I go in February...
I want to continue enjoying life together happily‼️
I have nothing but gratitude for my husband💓♥️❤️
And I'm thinking of summarizing this year's travels, spanning across the turn of the year, in a note in March.
If you had money, what would you want?
What would you want to try doing?

I had written this much and saved it as a draft when I came across a wonderful article. It made me feel warm and fuzzy too‼️
It was so in sync with my feelings that I would like to share it here.
Thank you for reading again today,
thank you very much<m(__)m>
