Nice to meet you | Is additive-free difficult? The “sustainable way to start” that a dad who manages an additive-free food store arrived at
🌿 To you, who thinks, “I’m interested in additive-free, but I don’t feel like I can keep it up”
I’m interested in additive-free and organic, but...
“It’s too expensive, I can’t afford it”
“I don’t really understand the difference”
“I’m interested in additive-free, but I don’t have the confidence to keep it up”
“I’m worried if my child will eat it”
“There’s too much information, I don’t really get it”
Standing in the additive-free food aisle,
I hear these voices almost every single day.
And actually—
this wasmy old selfas well.
By following this note,
**you will gradually acquire a ‘way of thinking that stops you from hesitating’ as a parenting family that gets lost in the additive-free aisle every time.**
You don’t have to be perfect.
A form that you can keep up is the most meaningful.
By the time you finish reading this article,
the time you spend standing still in the additive-free aisle
should be a little shorter.
👋 Nice to meet you. I’m Yasu-papa
Born in Shiga Prefecture, living in Machida. While raising my 4-year-old and 2-year-old daughters, I stand on the sales floor as a manager at an additive-free food store.
Every day, while talking to customers on the sales floor,
I receive consultations like this:
• “I don’t know which one to choose”
• “Is it really meaningful?”
• “If I can’t keep it up, it’s meaningless, right...”
And, I previously worked as a Financial Planner (FP) at an insurance company.
Food, household finances, and daily life cannot be separated.
“The desire to choose good things”and
“realistic money and time”—I understand the feeling of being torn between them painfully well.In this note,
**I write about the ‘way of thinking for families who stop hesitating’ that I have seen on the front lines of additive-free food stores,**
mixing in the realities of parenting and household finances,
shortly, one theme at a time.
👶 “True food worries” seen from the front lines of parenting
In families raising children, worries about food are endless.
• Picky eating
• Allergies
• Increase in food expenses
• Preparing meals while having no time
“I know additive-free is good, but I’m worried if I can keep it up”
“I’m worried about whether my child will eat it”
Families who are keeping it up are not highly conscious, nor are they perfect.
They are just
unconsciously making “choices that don’t require effort.”
I will put that “unconscious way of thinking” into words and share it with you.
🍙 “Selection criteria” gained on the front lines of an additive-free food store
To be honest, additive-free food is hard to understand.
There is a lot of information and a lot of technical terms.
But, among those I have seen on the front lines,
there is a common point among ‘people who stop hesitating.’That is,
• The order in which they look
• The order in which they think
• The criteria by which they decide
These three things are decided within themselves.
You don’t have to understand all the ingredients.
You don’t have to increase your knowledge.
If you just know this order,
the hesitation of “which one is the correct answer?” will decrease,
and shopping will become much easier all at once.
I will write about this way of thinking in detail one by one in future articles.
💰 “How to deal with food expenses” as felt by an FP
When choosing additive-free food, what many families worry about is the “price.”
Since my children are also small, our food expenses fluctuate every month. That is precisely why I feel that the perspective of “it doesn’t have to be everything” is important.
From my experience receiving household finance consultations as an FP, I can say thatfood expenses are not ‘fixed costs’ but ‘variable costs that can be adjusted.’There is no need to make everything additive-free.
• Where to spend money
• Where to cut back
• Where to buy time
Just by deciding these,
the stress on household finances will decrease significantly.
Actually,
seasonings that define the flavor with a small amount and
foods that lead to time-saving
are often “cost-effective” in the end.
In this note,
I will also think together about the perfect balance between food and household finances.
🌱 What I will be posting in this note
• How to choose additive-free food that suits parenting families
• Popular products on the front lines and the reasons why
• Products recommended by Yasu-papa and how to use them
• Ways of thinking to make additive-free a “form that can be kept up”
• How to balance household finances and food
Without being swayed by the information overflowing on the internet,
I aim for content that allows you to make“just the right choices”that suit your family.
If there is a theme you are interested in, please feel free to let me know in the comments.
☕ In closing | It is enough to just “know and choose”
I chose by price today.
I didn’t have the mental capacity to think today.
I did the same as always today.
Even so, it’s okay.
You are choosing with knowledge.
I think that alone is enough.
If you
get a little tired every time you are in the additive-free aisle,if you follow me,
your way of thinking the next time you go will be easier. If you feel, “This might be about me,”
I would be happy if you could quietly let me know with a ‘like.’I will continue to write little by little about stories that can only be told because I am on the front lines of sales.
📖 If you read next
I’m interested in additive-free.
But, I don’t have the confidence to do it perfectly.
For those people,
from the front lines of an additive-free food store and the reality of parenting,
I am writing about “ways to choose that can be kept up without strain.”
First, please read from here👇
▶ What “people who know but can’t choose” are doing in the additive-free aisle
Even though I’m interested in additive-free,
I end up choosing the same things every time.
The reason for that
might be “trying to choose properly.”
I have summarized the “common points of people who get lost”
that I see every day on the sales floor.
An article that will deepen your understanding if you read it next👇
▶ The “three lines to change” that a manager who failed at additive-free arrived at
I wrote about the reason why I, who tried to change everything and went bankrupt with an extra 8,000 yen per month, was able to return to “sustainable additive-free.”
For those who are choosing while getting lost in the same way,
I will continue to write about the reality of the front lines.
