The Art Lab for Loss and Regeneration is launching.
Lately, I have been checking the access analytics and frequently updating the headings and body text of the application page.
As I wrote the other day, I am also in the process of refining the target audience.
Perhaps the most important thing is for people who 'want to express themselves' to first encounter the theme of loss.
Even if they haven't experienced loss, I feel that if it reaches those who wish to 'find something through expression,' the ripples will quietly spread from there.
Thinking about it that way, I've come to realize that this project is not a course or a lecture, but closer to a 'laboratory where we explore together'.
So, I've changed the title a little this time.“Art Lab for Loss and Regeneration”.
And it looks like the venue is almost decided.
An alternative space called 'BUoY' in Kita-Senju, which is nearly 90 square meters. Since the exhibition I held in February was about 70 square meters, it's a good size for multiple people to present their work. I have yet to visit the site, but judging by the photos, the atmosphere is great, and my expectations are already growing.
People who have never had a solo exhibition but have participated in events.
People who have been creating work for a long time but have kept it filed away without showing it to anyone.
People who admire 'creators' but think, 'Art? That's not for me...'
All of them can become 'peers' in this lab.
Focusing on loss, we will think, struggle, and give shape to ideas together within the context of contemporary art.
Whether you have a specialty or haven't found one yet, I want you to find your 'own way of expressing yourself' here. And I hope that by presenting it in the form of an exhibition, you will take your first step as an 'artist'.
We are currently accepting applications.
If this resonates with you, please consider joining us.
