A day I reaffirmed that there are things with value that money cannot buy
The other day, I read an article that moved me.
It was by Yasu (Yasushi Ueda).
His daily updated account,
Please sell me your account
.
The article above poses the question,
"If you were to buy or sell an account
that has been updated daily for over a year,
what would you do?"
It explores this point.
Selling an account you have poured your heart and soul into
to someone else...
Hmm, that is a difficult dilemma.
Depending on the amount,
I might consider it.
1 million yen?
No, 5 million yen?
......Is that not enough?
Then how about 10 million yen?
Yasu presents an exquisite amount.
"1 million is not enough...
Ah! But, for 10 million yen,
I might be willing to sell..."
I wonder if there are some people who thought that.
In fact, if you were to sell articles updated daily for a year
for 10 million yen,
that comes to "27,400 yen" per article!
10 million yen ÷ 365 days = 27,400 yen
A difficult dilemma...
(You were just struggling with that, weren't you?)
However...
Yasu-san continues and
explains something very important.
But you know, if you think about it from the opposite perspective,
just because you bought someone's account,
it is nearly impossible
to maintain that account.
Because the writer changes.
No matter how many followers
an account has,
or even if past articles went viral,
that is only because the original writer wrote them.
No matter how popular an account is,
“an account is the person themselves”is the truth.
That is so true 💦
An account nurtured by the hands of “that person”
in whatever form it may take,
as Yasu-san says,
is “that person themselves.”
An account that no one else can imitate,
your very own account...
It can also be considered that
added value is created
in the process of nurturing it.

✓ What is value
that money cannot buy

When someone says,
“Please sell me your account”
I will not sell it.
I would not sell it
even if offered 100 million.
To me, my note account
is an account of that much value.
And, as Yasu-san says,
my note account
is me myself.
Habit Supporter shogo
is my alter ego.
In other words...
There are articles that
only I can write.
There are expressions that
only I can convey.
There are people who connect with me
precisely because it is me.
That is
“value that money cannot buy”.
If I were to
sell my account to someone.
The first thing
I would think about is...
the fact that the “image of Habit Supporter shogo”
would change.
“Becoming a completely different person”
would feel terribly
unnatural to the readers.
In the worst-case scenario,
the image of Habit Supporter shogo
could potentially crumble in a bad way.
(I really don’t want that to happen😢)
That is exactly
what the concept of a brand is.
Because I have built up the brand of “Habit Supporter shogo,”
I do not want to destroy it.
I do not want what I have painstakingly shaped over many years
to be knocked down like a game of Jenga.
That is why
I will not sell my account to anyone,
and I will likely never let it go in the future.

Cases like
selling an account on note are rare.
At the very least,
I am not aware of any.
However,
on other platforms like Ameblo or YouTube,
account trading does exist.
If an account was originally established for business purposes,
it is understandable that
buying and selling would be considered.
While note also has a business aspect,
ultimately,
“who is managing the account”
is very important.
On note,
I feel that “trust is everything.”
Perhaps,
the reason an account doesn't grow
might be related to this “guarantee of trust.”
Once again, I learned a lot
from Yasu-san's article.
Well then, until next time.
Goodbye.
Yasu-san,
thank you for posting
such a wonderful article!
