Two Reasons Why Drafts Keep Piling Up

Even though I post every day,
I don't always
finish every article.

Among them, there are plenty of articles
that end up as
"saved drafts" without being completed.

I think, "I have to finish it..." but
I never get around to it.

Or, even if I start,
I end up stopping anyway.

Why can't I
bring them to completion?

The theme this time is
the two reasons why drafts keep piling up.

When I suddenly peek at the draft screen,
the ever-accumulating articles
stare back at me.

"Why don't you finish
and post them?"
as if to say...

But you know,

I just can't seem to finish them,
that's just how it is (;^_^A

the reasons with you all.

✓ Reasons why they
　stay permanently frozen as drafts

Draft articles that
keep piling up.

Why do they remain in draft status
and stay frozen forever?

There are two reasons for this.

1. Lack of understanding
2. Lack of momentum

These are the two reasons.
I will explain them one by one.

1. Lack of understanding

You might be full of enthusiasm,
thinking, "Right, I'm going to write this!!"
and decide on a theme, but...

You get stuck!!

It's a cycle of writing and deleting,
writing and deleting.

And then,
you get stuck again!!

The factor that leads to this state is
"an overwhelming lack of understanding".

Because of your lack of knowledge
regarding that theme,
you simply cannot write the article.

Also, even if you try to develop
a logical flow like "A, therefore B,"
a lack of understanding becomes a major hindrance.

"Not knowing things"
"Not having searched"
"Not understanding the essence in the first place"

Due to such lack of understanding,
articles remain unfinished
and stay frozen.

2. Lack of momentum

To complete an article,
above all,“momentum”is essential.

Once the theme is decided and you think,
“Right, time to write!”
let momentum take over and
just power through it!

Even if you think,
“Hmm, this might not be what I want to say”
while writing, it’s fine to leave it as is and
write all the way to the end.

Typos, omissions, and points you are unsure about
can simply be polished later.

If you stop your hand midway thinking, “This isn’t right!”
the momentum will immediately hide away somewhere.

If you keep deleting and rewriting, deleting and rewriting,
you will inevitably end up slowing down rapidly...

The worst-case scenario is the pattern where you never write again
and it ends up permanently frozen.

If that happens,
there is no point at all.

In fact, this very article
was written by letting “momentum” take over
and writing it through to the end.

I like to think that this creates a sense of liveliness
and makes it more enjoyable for the reader.
