The Reason I Frequently Use "Oh Well!"
I am lazy and hate doing things.
I use the microwave a lot for cooking, and
I prefer not to create any dishes to wash.
(Mainly frozen foods 💦)
At work,
I definitely carry out the tasks assigned to me, but
if possible, I prioritize efficiency and
am always thinking about multitasking.
Naturally, by taking too many shortcuts,
I often miss important things
or make mistakes.
At times like that,
the magic words I tell myself are these ☟
"Oh well!"
-Oh well!-
= It's fine, whatever
Short for "This much is fine." An optimistic way of thinking.
Words of affirmation born from the spirit of "it will work out somehow."
Mistakes are part of life for everyone, and
it's human nature to want to take it easy.
As if to tell myself, "This level is a passing grade, right!"
when I feel like making excuses for my unease,
I chant "Oh well!" in my heart.
Since I started saying the words above,
I feel "it has become much easier to live".
Above all, when tackling things,
the hurdle has dropped dramatically.
Of course,
I also calculate risk hedging when taking action.
When there is clearly
a risk of paying a high price,
it cannot be settled with "Oh well!",
so I choose a method that is definitely safe.
But, that is not the case.
If it ends with
just gaining a bit of experience,
I settle it with "Oh well!" and just get it done quickly.
In many cases,
it is better to do it than not to do it 🤔
Making mistakes is a human trait.
To maintain a spirit of challenge,
and to avoid fearing the risk of failure,
"Oh well!" is a convenient phrase.

✔ If you don't forgive yourself,
you lose your escape route.

"I must do this perfectly,"
"I can't afford to fail at this level,"
"I must meet the expectations of those around me."
When taking on various actions,
pressure often accompanies them.
If it is an action you can normally do with ease,
there is no need to blame yourself more than necessary, but...
For non-routine actions, things you have little experience with,
or things you can only do by being conscious of them,
excessive pressure arises regarding actions
with a relatively low success rate.
My heart is pounding and the excitement won't stop.
And,
what is the result of acting while nervous...
It usually doesn't go well, does it? 😓
After all,
it is clear that the success rate is higher
in a relaxed state than in a tense one.
Forgetting that blind spot,
"Oh no! I failed! What should I do..."
you corner yourself.
Yeah!
That is putting the cart before the horse!!
It's okay to fail!
After all, you haven't
experienced it that much, have you?
You haven't practiced enough, have you?
In the first place, isn't it because you are
taking on a difficult field?
Serious people might hear these words
as nothing but excuses.
But I
think that's fine.
Forgive yourself by saying, "Oh well!"
Otherwise, if you blame yourself too much,
keep putting yourself under immense pressure,
and expect "more! more!" from yourself,
you will break down.
Your heart won't be able to take it.
Even without that,
you are already working hard,
believing in yourself, and being earnest every day.
I
know about your efforts.
That is exactly why it is okay to
let things slide with an "Oh well!" once in a while.
Everything is okay.
The other day, I made a vegetable stir-fry.
I just took whatever vegetables I had from the fridge,
chopped them up roughly, and stir-fried them over high heat.
Instead of plating the finished dish,
I just slammed the frying pan onto the table and ate it right out of there.
(So lazy)
When I thought, "...hmm, it's a bit bland,"
I realized I hadn't seasoned it at all.
Midway through, I just
tossed in some salt and pepper to adjust it.
Also, some of the vegetables
were still a little bit raw.
(The carrots were tough...)
Even so, I finished it all.
Saying, "Oh well!" as I did.
It was reasonably delicious (*´艸`*)
If I had to...
pick out the necessary vegetables from a cookbook,
go shopping, and get all the seasonings ready.
And when it came time to cook,
wash and cut the vegetables into perfect shapes,
time the stir-frying exactly, and measure the seasonings with a spoon.
And finally, plate it nicely.
If I had to do all that,
just imagining it would make me
decide, "Yeah! No vegetable stir-fry for me!" 🤣
Because I can do it roughly and casually,
I chose to make "vegetable stir-fry," and
because I can eat it reasonably well by saying "Oh well!"
it tastes good.
What do you think?
This level of effort makes life easier, doesn't it?
I hope this lightens the heart of your serious self.
Well then, see you later.
Excuse me.
