Singaporean food brand 'Spring Home' hosts a recipe contest using paratha and spring roll pastry

Singaporean food brand 'Spring Home' has been hosting an Instagram recipe and photo contest since December 12th, featuring their frozen paratha and frozen spring roll pastry. These two popular ingredients, which can be easily purchased at Gyomu Super stores nationwide and offer a wide range of arrangement possibilities, are pantry staples that expand the repertoire of home cooking. You can enter until February 15, 2026, so why not come up with some recipes over the year-end and New Year holidays for a chance to win luxurious prizes, such as meal vouchers for popular restaurants!

You can post as many times as you like from one account by including #sgfoodcontest

The two products eligible for the Instagram recipe and photo contest

'Spring Home' is a famous brand exported to 80 countries and regions around the world, including Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East. In Japan, it can be purchased at 'Gyomu Super' stores nationwide (1,122 stores as of the end of October 2025). The contest-eligible products are 'Paratha' (plain, 1 bag: 400g, 5 pieces, 278 yen including tax) and 'Spring Roll Pastry' (1 bag: 340g, 25 pieces, 235 yen including tax). Both are very reasonable at under 300 yen.

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Singapore's independence, this contest is a project to post 'creative arrangement dishes' using these two ingredients on Instagram. The entry method is simple: follow the official account (@tyjfood_japan), purchase paratha or spring roll pastry yourself, and post your entry with the hashtag #sgfoodcontest and a photo of the package.

[How to Enter]
1. Follow the official Instagram account @tyjfood_japan.
2. Purchase either or both of the eligible products at a store.
Retailer: 'Gyomu Super' (1,122 stores nationwide, as of the end of October 2025) (Please note that the relevant products may be out of stock. Please check with each store.)
3. Take a photo of a dish using the eligible product(s) and post it on Instagram with the following information:
・Include the hashtag '#sgfoodcontest' in the text.
・Post a photo of the package of the two products in your feed or reel so that it is clear that the eligible products were used.
・If you include a recipe (ingredients and cooking steps), it will automatically be considered for both the recipe category and the photo category. Posts with only the finished dish and no recipe will be treated as entries for the photo category only.

Here is a recommended example for your post. The key is to also photograph the package of the relevant product.

*Please submit one entry per dish. You can enter as many times as you like from one account.

*Please note that if the image of the relevant product's package cannot be confirmed in the post (if it is unclear whether the product used was our company's or another company's), the entry will unfortunately be invalid.

They can even be used for party dishes and sweets! The recipe arrangements are endless.

Paratha can be placed on top of chicken pie and baked (left), or used for sweet pizza (right).

The 'Paratha' eligible for the contest is crispy on the outside, fluffy and soft on the inside, and slightly thicker than chapati, making it very satisfying. Because it is made by folding layers of wheat dough and then rolling it out thinly, it has a crispy, pie-like texture. As it is a frozen product, it is recommended as a pantry staple.

Since there is a film between both sides of the dough, it is easy to peel off one by one, making it convenient to use only the amount you need each time. You can enjoy it by sandwiching meat or vegetables, combining it with fruit or ice cream for a dessert, or using it as a substitute for tortillas.

Spring roll pastry can be used as a container for dishes (left) or as a decoration for fried shrimp (right).

The other eligible product, 'Spring Roll Pastry,' can be arranged into dishes from various countries, such as the Philippine 'Turon' (bananas wrapped and fried) or Indian 'Samosa,' in addition to Chinese cuisine. Because the dough is thinner than similar chilled products, it has the appeal of finishing light and crispy when fried or baked.

Although it is moist and soft, it is hard to tear and fits easily around ingredients when wrapped. It does not turn brown easily even when baked, resulting in a beautiful appearance. It can also be used as a substitute for pizza dough or galette dough. It is recommended as a pantry staple because you can use only what you need and keep the rest frozen.
