A story from 20 years ago when I seriously suspected food poisoning😰

You see a lot of news about food poisoning this time of year, don't you?😰

Actually, about 20 years ago, I had an experience where I was convinced, "This is definitely food poisoning!😱"

I was 10 months pregnant.

When I went for my prenatal checkup, the doctor said,

"Just to be safe, let's have you admitted to the hospital right now."

And so, I was admitted on the spot.

As I was heading to the counter on the first floor to complete the admission paperwork...

Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my stomach!😱

"This is bad😫
I must have eaten something rotten..."

Since the restroom happened to be right next to the registration counter, every time the sharp pain hit,
I would rush in.🏃💨
...But nothing happened.😰
"That's strange.🤔"

In the brief moment when the pain subsided, I emailed my mother.

"Hey, was there anything rotten in last night's dinner?😰"

My mother replied immediately.

"Nothing was rotten.😳
I'm perfectly fine."

No way, that can't be right.😭

This pain is definitely something serious.

It's the kind of pain you'd get from eating raw oysters, squid, and shrimp that had been left out in the scorching sun for two hours at the beach!😱

Wait a minute.🤔

Who went to the beach yesterday?😳

I'm a pregnant woman.🥺

While I was having that internal monologue, the admission paperwork was finished, and the sharp pain I had been feeling just a moment ago cleared up completely.🤗

"What on earth was that?🤔"

I thought to myself as I headed to my hospital room.

And then, a few hours later—

I gave birth to my son.👶

That sharp pain was...

It was labor.😫

It wasn't food poisoning after all!😂

Well, I don't think there are many people who would mistake labor for food poisoning, but🤣
