Living energy is more important than correct poses | Self-Transurfing / Appendix 2: Movement / Energy Gymnastics "Eyes of Rebirth" ②
I am reading and explaining the original Russian book "Трансерфинг себя" (Self-Transurfing / released November 2024) by Vadim Zeland. Past articles are summarized in order starting from the introduction. If you would like to read from the beginning, please start here.
*Japanese version "Self-Transurfing (Vol. 1 & 2)" to be released in April 2026
Continuing with the "Eyes of Rebirth (Tibetan Rites)."
Third movement: Kneeling and bending the body forward and backward
Kneel down and place both palms on the back of your thighs—this is the inhalation. Bend your body into an arch (согнувшись дугой) and lean forward as far as is comfortable—this is the exhalation. Return to the upright position—this is the inhalation. Repeat this movement 21 times.
At first glance, it may seem like a meaningless and ineffective movement. However, in reality, it provides necessary preventive care (профилактическая проработка) for the important muscles of the back and neck, as well as a massage for the internal organs. Of course, this is only if you perform it consciously and carefully, paying attention to which muscles are working.
At the same time, please activate your own energy. Inhale as you raise your body—imagine the ascending flow moving upward and the descending flow moving downward. Intentionally accelerate the flow. When you bend your body forward, exhale. Then, the flow starts moving again. If it is difficult to move the flow during both movements at first, do it with only one—either when bending (leaning forward) or when extending (leaning backward).

согнувшись дугой: while bending the body into an arch
In general explanations and videos of Tibetan Rites, the backward bend is often the larger movement, and the forward bend is often just a movement of the neck (this is also the case in the cited image). In Zeland's version, it says "bend the body into an arch and lean forward," and in the explanatory video by Evgeny Samarin (Transurfing Center), the forward movement is close to a "bow."
It has become energy gymnastics that circulates the flow of energy with more dynamic movements. And here, too, the emphasis is on feeling the upward and downward energy flows, and it is further stated to accelerate them "intentionally."
профилактическая проработка
Literally translated, it means:
профилактический: preventive
проработка: digging deep, handling carefully, working thoroughly
If translated to capture the meaning:
[Preventive action, preventive adjustment, careful stimulation to keep things in order beforehand]
It feels like this.
Rather than curing something after it has gone bad, I think the nuance is to move the important muscles of the back and neck daily and keep them in order so they do not stiffen.
осознанно и качественно: consciously and with high quality
It is not just about completing the number of repetitions; it is about watching which muscles are working, not doing it sloppily with momentum, and performing it with bodily sensation.
Fourth movement: Shaking the body with the back facing down
Place your straight arms and bent knees on the floor, back facing down, so that your body and head are as parallel to the ground as possible—this is the inhalation. Next, straighten your legs and sit on the floor with your upper body straight—this is the exhalation. (You do not have to sit all the way down; you may keep your knees slightly bent and keep your upper body lifted off the ground. Please do it in a way that is easy for you.)
Return to the original position—this is the inhalation. Perform this forward and backward rocking 21 times.
Please do not perform the hand positions or posture "according to the rules (по правилам)," but rather in a way that is comfortable for you. What is important is not extreme discomfort, but feeling comfort within the movement. Move freely and grasp the rhythm of movement, breathing, and energy flow. In this movement, you only activate the flow when you stretch your body. Inhale when you stretch your body—let the flow run along your spine. Exhale when you bend (sit) your body. I personally perform it by rocking while keeping my body lifted without going all the way down to the floor.
The authors of books written about this series of movements for some reason emphasize the "strict correctness (строгой правильности)" of posture and movement. However, in reality, that is not important at all. What is important is moving the energy (ЭНЕРГИЮ ДВИГАТЬ), and that you are comfortable (КОМФОРТНО) at that time.

<Explanatory Video>
This is a movement where you place your hands and feet on the floor, lift your body, and create a so-called table-like posture.
Zeland describes this as,
качание телом спиной вниз: rocking the body with the back facing down
“качание” means to sway or to rock.
You can see that the emphasis is on moving rhythmically back and forth rather than perfectly nailing a static pose.
по правилам: according to the rules, by the book
He emphasizes doing it in a way that is comfortable for you, rather than “по правилам (by the rules)” in parentheses.
Zeland repeatedly conveys that rather than obsessing over “correct posture/movement,” one should prioritize doing it in a way that is “easy,” “comfortable,” and “feels good” for oneself, but regarding this movement, a “criticism of the book's authors” appears even more directly.
While Tibetan gymnastics books for some reason (почему‑то) emphasize “correct posture,” he asserts that it is not important (неважно).
ЭНЕРГИЮ ДВИГАТЬ (MOVE ENERGY)andКОМФОРТНО (COMFORTABLY). These two points, which Zeland emphasizes in capital letters, can be said to be the fundamental principles of Zeland's version of Tibetan gymnastics.
This is one of the cores of the “secrets not written in the books,” and it is a concrete manifestation of what was stated in the previous section: “the authors may not have known the secrets, or perhaps they were hiding them.”
Rather than correctly tracing the form, is the energy alive and flowing within the movement? I believe that single point is the essence of “energy gymnastics” for Zeland.
Next time, we will look at the fifth movement, and Zeland's original sixth movement.
