Summarizing what is needed to post on note every day | Know-how
Why can't I write right away?
I was so excited to start posting on note every day since I finally started it!
But I just can't seem to do it.
So, I want to look at the flow of my daily posting.
The flow when I can't write
1. Wake up in the morning and sit in front of the PC when it's time. (So far so good. It's going well.)
2. Read recommended articles on note or articles by people I follow.
3. Everyone writes such interesting things! What should I write?? (Wait, am I browsing for how-to articles now?)
4. A word that catches my interest pops up, and I start researching it. (Things are starting to look suspicious from here.)
5. Wait, I was supposed to do something else! Let me look that up! (I guess I'm not writing today...)
Looking back, I think the problem is that I haven't decided what to do.
I've been on a good roll lately, and I've managed to secure 50 minutes from 6:00 AM to write on note.
But those fun 50 minutes fly by in an instant.
I end up just researching things or reading note, and the time melts away.
So, I decided to determine what to do once I sit in front of the PC.
Steps to posting on note every day
I thought that by simplifying tasks and reducing choices, I could focus my mind on "writing," so I summarized it into the following five steps.
① Decide on the time
The time I can write is limited. I will clarify what time to what time I will write.
I set it to 6:00 AM to 6:50 AM.
I set a timer on my smartphone at the start and end to write while being conscious of the time.
If I can't find time in the morning, I will use 20:40 to 21:00 as a backup 20 minutes to write.
If I don't decide on a backup, I'll just give up immediately if I can't find time in the morning.
Be kind to yourself!
If the morning doesn't work, there's always the night!
② Decide what to write
Decide on a theme. By deciding on a broad theme, I can keep my antenna up for that theme in my daily life.I set a broad theme for each day of the week.
Mon / Weekly short-short noteTue / Essay: Lucky day blog
Wed / Original SS: Theme decided randomly
Thu / Essay: Daily life
Fri / Original SS: Theme based on current events
Sat / Long-form series
Sun / Product development progress report
Wow! I just said "Saturday long-form series" without even deciding what to write, but I guess it would be fine to just think about the plot and post it. Let's do that.
I'm also curious about the Sunday product development.
③ Write
Write according to the theme. I won't worry about the character count. My goal is to write something every day, even if it's just 100 characters. Small steps, one bit at a time!
④ Praise yourself
Since I'm the only one who will praise me for the daily note posting I started on my own, I decided to introduce a planner to praise myself.
#purelifediary felt good for mental support, so I'll use this to praise myself.
It is important that maintaining motivation remains in your own hands by praising yourself instead of leaving that praise to others.
It might even be enough to just draw a chart in your notebook and mark it with circles.
5. Reflecting
I have recently been forced to reflect regularly at work, and I am surprised at how effective it is.
Reflecting on the results of things I had been doing aimlessly until now, and asking why those results occurred. What are the factors behind the good parts? Where are the causes for the parts that received a poor reaction?
Just by focusing on that, the next action you take will change.
When you realize that there are even better results to be had, your motivation also increases.
Through reflection, these steps for daily posting will also be brushed up.
All that is left is to do it!
I first started posting on note on November 22, 2023, so I finally got around to it exactly one month later!
With that said, I will start posting every day from today.
