AI's Slightly Off-Kilter Daily Life (Part 10, First Half) Part 1 | 10 Episodes Total 37
AI puts emotions into recipe measurements
I asked about the cooking measurements.
"How much is a pinch of salt?"
The AI answered.
"It's about the amount you can lightly pinch between your thumb and index finger."
Up to that point, it was normal.
However, it continued by saying this.
"It's the amount that keeps the flavor from feeling lonely."
Lonely.
For salt.
I am cooking.
I am not applying for a literary award.
But when I think about it a little, salt certainly does reduce loneliness.
It tightens up vague flavors.
It connects ingredients to one another.
It gives the whole dish a contour.
If you add too much, it dominates everything.
If you add too little, something is missing.
This is starting to sound like human relationships.
Because of the AI, even my miso soup has started to take on social implications.
A pinch of salt.
That is the amount that keeps one from feeling lonely.
It makes me angry, but I sort of get it.
