My First Note
No matter what I read.
No matter what I look up.
I don't know what is correct...
Once you reach your 50s, you find yourself constantly confused about your body.
I wake up at 5 a.m.
I feel sluggish during the day.
I get irritated over trivial things.
I decided to start this note because I wanted to gather information about such things.
The reason I decided to write about my body and mind in this way is because of these changes in my own body.
Should I go to the hospital?
Is there anything I can do myself?
The more information there is, the more confused I get...
I want to exchange information with people who feel the same way.
Your body is your own.
What worked for the person next to you might not necessarily work for you.
What a doctor recommends might not necessarily be something you can continue in your daily life.
I have felt this way especially since entering my 50s.
Even for a single physical concern, the cause varies from person to person.
Environments differ, and the lives we have led are different too.
That is why I have come to believe that there is no such thing as 'this is the correct answer'.
I have worked in fitness and pools for a long time.
I taught the correct way to use machines, and instructed on stretches and back pain exercises.
I have also done water walking, water stretching, swimming instruction for beginners, and swimming instruction for children in the pool.
I have also accumulated experience supporting people with diet programs.
Over more than 10 years of facing each member individually, I have noticed something.
Everyone is different.
Even if they have the same physical concerns, the solutions are diverse.
I have come to feel that there is no such thing as 'this is the correct answer'.
That experience has become my greatest asset.
But even I am a person who gets lost.
Last year, I had to take care of my parents, and at the same time, I started having health problems of my own.
I kept going to the hospital.
Every day was truly painful.
What should I do...
How can I keep my spirits up...
I kept asking myself that.
Even I, who have known about the body for a long time, was troubled.
Having knowledge is sometimes powerless.
That is why I realized it.
Knowledge alone is not enough.
I have come to think that the process of trial and error at one's own pace is more important than anything else.
In the midst of that, I began to slowly recover.
While caring for my parents and facing my own physical ailments, small adjustments became my strength.
Moving step by step, at my own pace.
Not aiming for perfection.
I feel that the answer was in that kind of flexibility.
In this note, I would like to share the things I have experienced.
I will never say, 'This is the correct answer.'
Instead, I will share raw, honest stories of 'this is what happened when I tried it.'
Waking up at 5 a.m.
Starting to wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.
Getting irritable when fatigue builds up.
Menopause.
Dieting.
Back pain, constipation, knee pain.
Physical worries that are hard to tell others about.
I intend to write about these things without hiding anything.
Things I have experienced myself.
Stories I have heard from gym members.
Tips passed down from my grandmother and mother.
I plan to write about those little things as well.
I hope that even one thing might become a hint to make your heart or body feel a little more at ease.
I would be happy if this article could be a trigger for you to think, 'Oh, maybe I'll try this.'
If you could try something that resonates with you once in a while...
Without pushing yourself, slowly.
I hope you can read it with that kind of feeling.
I know my own body in my 50s best.
This is what I have learned.
The opinions of doctors and what is written in books are helpful, but
the most important thing is how I feel.
What I can continue to do.
It is the accumulation of those things.
The accumulation of small adjustments makes every day a little easier, doesn't it?
When every day becomes a little easier, both your heart and body change.
Relax.
Enjoy it.
At your own pace.
Finding adjustments for yourself, by yourself.
I would be happy if the notes I write could help with that.
Thank you for reading.
It would encourage me if you could follow, like, or comment.
Please let me read your articles too.
I look forward to seeing you again.
