Is Art Difficult? Let's Enjoy Art While Traveling [Museum Edition]
It is a mystery.
Why do people end up going to museums when they travel?
Yes, if you go to Paris, you go to the Louvre.
If you are in New York, you go to MoMA or the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Even though you don't usually go to museums, for some reason you end up visiting them when traveling abroad. Or, even if you have no interest, they are included in your tour.
And then, after having gone to the museum, you felt like you didn't really understand it...

Of course, there are people who really love museums and look forward to them. I think those people know how to enjoy art.
Also, they are likely not just looking at the exhibits, but also enjoying the museum building itself and shopping at the museum store.
However, for those who are not usually interested in art but feel like they should go to a museum anyway, and end up feeling confused every time, I would like to write a series of columns about art that are fun to read.
I don't really like to write about myself in this magazine, but I will introduce myself just a little bit for the sake of writing this series.
I graduated from the Department of Crafts at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tokyo University of the Arts, a national university. My major was dyeing and weaving, and I mainly created contemporary art (fiber art) using weaving.
After graduating, while working in design and animation, I performed art activities using voice, performing both domestically and internationally, and was supported by contemporary art galleries.
Now, I have moved away from contemporary art, and I am living happily while playing in a rock band, drawing the pictures you see here, and being involved in employment support and education related to art.
I, such a person, will write a guide about art.
It's okay, it's not difficult. And since art is "free," my articles are not the only correct answer. I hope you will interpret them freely.
And I hope this will serve as an introduction for those who are thinking, "Why... am I... in a museum abroad?"
So, the first installment isMuseum Edition.
*Because art is difficult to explain, this series will be published only in Japanese. My apologies to the English-speaking community.
The topic of art is very complicated and difficult. I write this manga in Japanese. My apologies.
*Please read the manga from the top left (left-bound).
*If the text is difficult to read, you can click on the image to enlarge it.

*There are parts that differ from the actual exhibition, such as the display location and frames.
Since it is the Museum Edition... that means something will follow after this.
Yes, art is not only found in museums. There are various places such as historical sites, ruins, galleries, art fairs, and art festivals.
And the easiest one is the "museum."
The voyage to art has just begun.
Where it will lead, even I don't know (laughs).
See you in the next article.
I think you can enjoy the works I featured in the illustrations as they are slightly different from the originals, so please be sure to see the original works as well.
Works featured this time: "The Feast of Venus" by Peter Paul Rubens, "Infanta Margarita Teresa in a White Dress" by Diego Velázquez, "Saint Justina of Padua with a Donor" by Moretto da Brescia, "Emperor Maximilian I" by Albrecht Dürer, "The Peasant Dance" by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, "The Three Philosophers" by Giorgione, "Portrait of a Young Venetian Woman" by Albrecht Dürer, "The Daughters of Cecrops Finding Erichthonius" by Jacob Jordaens
