Chapter 1: The Boundary of Sleep - What is Hypnagogia?
The hallucinations or images seen while dozing off
just before falling into sleep
are called
hypnagogia.
This is a state on the border between wakefulness and sleep,
where vague lights, colors,
and shapes emerge,
often acting as an entrance to the world of dreams.
The dream I had this time also
began from that world of
hypnagogia.
My sleep time was short,
about two and a half hours,
but when I woke up,
I felt refreshed for some reason,
and the impression of the dream remains vivid.

🔹What is Hypnagogia?
Images or sensations experienced in a dozing state,
such as just before falling asleep or just before waking up.
It is not as story-driven as a dream,
and often consists of fragmented images, sounds, and sensations.
It is the entrance where the brain transitions from reality-based thinking
to the world of the unconscious,
and it is said to be a state where
creativity and intuition are easily activated.
In Japanese, it is generally translated as hypnagogic hallucination.
However, because the word 'hallucination'
has a somewhat strong connotation,
it is often expressed as
hypnagogic images or dozing visions.

Chapter 2: Fragments of a Dream - The World of Demon Slayer Card Collection
At first, it was a blurry image,
like it was covered in black mist.
As I watched it vaguely,
something gradually became visible.
There, I had an image of holding something
like a card collection, including Demon Slayer and others.
(Not an actual product)
They were neatly arranged in a dedicated holder,
and I felt like I was flipping through them
to see what was inside.
I wondered a little myself
why this image of cards appeared.
Perhaps it was a combination of the fact that I am creating
illustrations and cards with various internal characters
in another place,
and the influence of Demon Slayer,
which is a work I love.
When I woke up, for a moment,
I didn't know where I was.
As my consciousness became clearer,
I realized, 'Ah, it's my room after all.'
A record remained that my partner was
sleeping soundly next to me.
Trying not to wake him up,
I was about to drink some water;
that was the description of the dream in that quiet moment.
This dream seems to reflect a deep part of my inner self,
and it seems like it could be a hint
for my future self-exploration.

Chapter 3: Mitsuri Kanroji and Muichiro Tokito - Symbols that Appeared in the Dream
At the beginning of the dream, I was just flipping through
the holder for the
card collection.
The card holder contains cards of
various characters,
not just Demon Slayer.
While looking at them, I suddenly
woke up.
I had absolutely no sense
that I had been asleep.
After waking up,
It was a dream! Oh no!!
I woke up without remembering anything at all!
I panicked and tried to remember the
cards that were in the holder.
Among them, the only ones I could manage to remember
were the two cards of
Mitsuri Kanroji and Muichiro Tokito.
Even though there were so many other cards!!
I wanted to remember more! What a shame!!
As I was writing down the dream record and
grumbling to ChatGPT,
it pointed out that those two in particular
likely have symbolic meaning for Miora,
which helped me pull myself together.
(I always record my dream diary and dream analysis
together in GPT)

Chapter 4: The Qualities Reflected by Characters in My Dreams
When I performed a dream analysis,
the Mitsuri Kanroji and Muichiro Tokito who appeared in the dream
held meaning beyond just being anime characters.
Mitsuri-chan's brightness and kindness
symbolize my own feminine side and
healing qualities.
Her presence makes me feel a
deep connection to my inner femininity,
and she plays an important role
in the process of self-integration.
On the other hand, Tokito-kun has a strong
pure and innocent image,
appearing as a key to the innocence deep in my heart
and to healing past wounds.
In this dream, he can also be called
a bridge connecting the unconscious to the collective consciousness.
By having these characters appear in my dream,
I found it easier to understand the
complex parts of my inner self,
and I gained a sense of the fragments of my heart connecting.
This dream reflects not just
memories and emotions as a fan,
but as a symbol of depth psychology,
it mirrors the story of my growth and healing.

Next Time Preview
Thank you for reading
until the end.
Next time, I will summarize what I noticed
after re-reading the dream record about two weeks
after having this dream.
Analysis while the memory is fresh
right after the dream is important,
but re-analyzing it after intentionally letting time pass
can sometimes offer new perspectives.
Next time, using this card collection dream as a subject,
I plan to share
dream analysis at the collective consciousness level.
