Is this job hunting?

Nice to meet you, I'm Oshima.
In starting to write for TALES, I have wiped the slate clean regarding my past articles.

It has already been 10 years since the post 'I didn't get into daycare, Japan can go to hell' became a hot topic, but
it became a personal issue for me this March.

I seriously tried to get into daycare, but I was rejected by all of them...
I had no choice but to extend my maternity leave.
Of course, the time I can spend with my children right now is the happiest time of my life.
However, I am constantly anxious about my career gap getting longer and longer.
Even if I were to resign, my current situation as a part-time employee who is also a parent and might need to take time off at any moment puts me in a very weak position in the job market.

I am constantly thinking about my future work and how to provide for my children's future expenses... I only think about things like this.

On one such day, an acquaintance who is a manga artist said to me,
"Why don't you try writing a manga original? I think your ideas are interesting."

They made such a wonderful suggestion.

Thinking that I should just try everything, I had that artist turn my original draft into a manga and applied for an award. (The results are not out yet, though.)

While I was looking for other things I could do, I came across TALES.

And so, my writing activities began.
Even though I don't have the expressive power of a professional writer, I started with momentum, thinking I would just write so that the story could be understood! However, I am overjoyed that more people have read my work than I expected.

Even if you are reading it out of obligation, as someone with no experience, I am truly happy that my work is reaching someone.

And I am surprised by the high level of the works by those writing on TALES...
I, who started writing just wanting the flow of the story to be understood, now have many goals, such as wanting to be able to express things as wonderfully as these works, or wanting to try creative writing that expresses my own quiet thoughts, regardless of manga originals.

In 'Payback Memory,' which I am writing now, I want to write about the unreasonable things I feel in the world and about family.

These are things I have thought about a lot since my children were born.

Unreasonable events, whether large or small, will inevitably happen to you.
Often, the other party is not punished.
People who work hard are not rewarded.
That is why, at the very least, I want there to be poetic justice in my stories.

This story is planned to have a rather heavy and painful development for a while, or rather, until the final scene.
However, I want the ending to be a story where the protagonist's suffering is rewarded.

I want to continue my writing and creative studies little by little while my 0-year-old and 2-year-old are sleeping.
And I will do my best to become a manga original writer within a year!
