#79. Find what lies beyond 'I want a boyfriend!' and 'I want to get married!'
Hello! Good evening! This is Mimi. I am writing to you from Argentina in South America to share thoughts on the heart and happy partnerships.
Now, to jump right in, I am sure those of you reading my blog are thinking, 'I want a boyfriend!' or 'I want to get married!'
So, let me ask you,
Why do you want a boyfriend?
Why do you want to get married?
What kind of experiences do you want to have in your life through 'romance' or 'marriage'?
I think this is easy to understand if we use job hunting as an example: getting a job offer or joining a company is never the final goal, is it?
This fact is something you naturally understand once you become a working adult, but among students in the middle of job hunting, it seems many mistakenly believe that 'getting a job (winning an offer)' is the goal.
It seems they think that if they can just get a job, they will be happy.
However, for those of us who are actually out in the world working, I think we know that is definitely not the case.
In short, getting a job (an offer) is not the goal; rather, in that industry, that company, and that role,
・What do you want to do?
・Why do you want to do it?
・What do you want to gain or learn?
・What do you want to give or contribute?
・What do you want to share?
・How do you want to work?
• What kind of people do you want to work with?
• What kind of emotions do you want to feel?
• What kind of life do you want to live?
Things like these—'what kind of life experiences do you want to have after getting the job'—are far more important.
However, it is quite difficult to think this far ahead while you are still a student, so it is understandable, but still...
Returning to the topic of romance and marriage partnerships,
If I get a boyfriend → I will be happy
If I get married → I will be happy
This is also definitely not the case. Ultimately, what matters more is what you do with that boyfriend or husband in the life that follows:
・What do you want to do?
・Why do you want to be with that person?
・What do you want to gain or learn?
・What do you want to give or contribute?
・What do you want to share?
・How do you want to live your life?
• What kind of emotions do you want to feel?
Knowing and understanding for yourself'what kind of life experiences you want to have' through that romance or marriage is far, far more important.
This is quite essential, but have you ever thought about it??
Today, please take some time to face yourself and explore what kind of life experiences you truly want to have in the life that follows after finding love or getting married.
Just by discovering that, everything from how you meet people and choose a partner, to your attitude toward dating and marriage, and even how you perceive things, should change!!
Once again, I am rooting for your world filled with love!
