#42 Episodes related to children's items I let go of this year
This year, I let go of two things that my two children had been using.
The first one was the stroller.
Since both of them were 'cuddle monsters,' we didn't end up using it that often, so I don't have much emotional attachment to it.
The second one was the car seat.
Currently, both of them have graduated from car seats and are using booster seats, so the car seat was just sitting in the house.
However, it was the car seat that both of them used when we brought them home from the hospital after birth, and it protected them during their infancy.
When I first laid my newborn (my oldest) in the car seat, they looked like they were struggling to breathe, which scared me, so I ended up holding the baby in the backseat on the way home.
I knew that it was safer to have them in the car seat and that I really should have, but after worrying about things like 'What if they can't breathe in this position!?', I decided to hold them instead.
The pain from the episiotomy during childbirth made every position unbearable for me, and I remember groaning with every vibration of the car on the way home—that's a good memory now too.🚗
I took a commemorative photo of my now-grown children sitting in that memorable car seat before throwing it away, but while I was taking pictures of them, they said, 'Mom, you sit too!' and it's a good memory that my child took a photo of me sitting in the tiny, tiny car seat giving a double peace sign.📸
