[LOEWE] A job change celebration for myself! A super compact card holder wallet

It's been a little less than two months since my first job change. I'm managing to enjoy working.

I suddenly decided to buy a card holder at LOEWE, so I'm summarizing it in this article.

I bought the coin card holder.

I plan to use this as my wallet. I imagine putting folded bills and coins in the zip section, and cards and my health insurance card on the back.
My previous wallet was also a card case, so I was looking for the same type.

Color and Material

Color: Light Oat / Honey
You don't really see bi-color card cases that often, so I thought it was cute at first glance.
I also like that the pull tab and the inside are a deep salmon pink color.
Apparently, it's a popular color.

Back side: Has 4 card slots

Price

¥55,000 (As of 2023/11/07)

I thought it was expensive for this size and simple construction, but I bought it anyway. lol

Reason for purchase

・The Bonaventura wallet I was using started to get worn out
・I felt like I wanted a fresh start

・Since a wallet is an important item, I thought,doesn't it need to spark joy?・
Since a wallet is where money comes in, I thought it would be perfect as a "job change celebration" (it motivates me to work)・Honestly, it's expensive, but since I use my wallet every day even with cashless payments, I can justify it considering the emotional boost.

・By the way, if I use it for 3 years and sell it for 10,000 yen, the usage cost per year is 15,000 yen.
That's 1,250 yen per month. Is that cheap or expensive... lol

Reasons for choosing a card case instead of a tri-fold or bi-fold wallet

・I want to reduce my luggage, so I prefer it to be as light and non-bulky as possible
・I don't use cash
・I only carry 4 or 5 cards usually, so I don't need much capacity

List of products I considered when purchasing

There were several card holder type products I was torn between. (They were all lovely💓)

Other colors

This series has quite a lot of colors (there were about 10 types at the store in Tokyo, and even more on the web), but since I love purple, I was torn about this one until the very end🥺..

After consulting with the store clerk, they told me that the Light Oat color has a different tone from the wallet I'm currently using and is brighter, while the purple (listed as Guimauve on the website) has a similar tone, so I decided on Light Oat!

Puzzle series coin case

At first, I thought I wanted this one because it's a new product, it's rare, and the design is elaborate. There were also 3 colors I was interested in.

However, when I saw the actual product at the store, I was really drawn to thethree-dimensional aspectof the series I ended up purchasing. I decided to trust my first instinct.

The square-ish type from the same series

I heard that this one can fit bills even when folded in two.
I like the functionality, but it was a size larger than I imagined and seemed a bit difficult to carry (since I often go out with just my smartphone and wallet in one hand).

Celine coin case of almost the same size

Both are so cute...! I still have a longing for Celine, so I thought it was nice, but I didn't go to see it.
The reason I chose Loewe was because the L-shaped zipper seemed easy to use.

Why didn't I just buy the Bonaventura one I liked again?

What I thought on the way to the store

It's not rational at all, and I feel guilty for spending money again when I want to be able to save, but...

I will use it with care and work hard at my job.

By the way, the Bonaventura has a large pocket on the back, so it probably holds more.

Why I choose brand-name items

I'm not exactly a huge brand lover, but it's a fact that I'm drawn to them. I'll organize my current thoughts here.

・Design and design fees
・High quality
・Vanity
・It feels good to make choices with intention rather than just saying "anything is fine"
・I'm happy that it's not something everyone else has
・The hurdle for purchase is high → but I want it → it can boost my motivation to work
(Whether I buy it myself or receive it from someone else, it leads to higher self-esteem. The former also serves as motivation to work.)
・Customer service is a learning experience. Since my emotions are stirred by the service and the purchase experience remains in my memory, my attachment to the item also increases.

Will I ever be able to truly enjoy high-end brands?

I think that ordinary people just enjoy buying leather goods at brand shops occasionally, while rich people also buy clothes. When I went to the store, I saw someone who had that aura of 'I always buy at Loewe.' I couldn't tell if it was Loewe, but she was a woman in her 40s wearing clothes in an unfamiliar color.
She was chatting happily with the sales clerk, and the clerk was providing a more personal level of service. I heard her say, 'Well, I'll come back to this store again,' and I thought that being able to build that kind of relationship is unique to high-end brands. I'm envious.

This is just a complaint, though.

Before purchasing, since it's non-returnable, I check the product beforehand, but the service at that time was:
1. 'I'd like you to take a look before purchasing. Oh, this isn't a defect, but it has a mark on it. Let me go exchange it!' (It had two small black spots?)

2. 'How about this one?'

The one they brought out also had a small black dot on the front, and I wondered why they even bothered bringing it out. 🥲 lol

Even though I knew I wouldn't notice it once I started using it, the hurdle for an exchange had been lowered by the first incident, so I had them exchange it...

It's the same with the subtle dirt on the box, but I just selfishly thought that even if the purchase price is low or I'm not a 'good customer,' I'd like high-end brands to be more thorough about those things.

However, it's also not right to label it a defective product just because of such a small spot, and the box is usable, so maybe I'm just dreaming too much.
