✍️Where did the warmth of handwriting go?
Hello, this is Mikity☆🌸
Today, I'd like to write about something that suddenly came to mind regarding "handwriting."
Lately, there are almost no opportunities to write letters.
Of course, I rarely go out of my way to send letters in my daily life either📮
But—
I really think that "handwritten" characters have a special power.
💌The "individuality" spelled out on stationery
A letter that arrived from someone.
The choice of stationery, the color of the pen, the slightly quirky handwriting...
Don't you feel that it's packed with that person's "individuality"?
A warmth that is different from printed things.
Just reading it makes my heart feel gently relaxed.
🎍The "warmth" given by a single line on a New Year's card
Even if the entire New Year's card is printed,
just having a single handwritten message added to it,
changes the impression completely.
"Looking forward to another great year"
"Hope we can meet up!"
The reason why just one line makes me so happy is because
It's because that person tried to convey it with their "own hands," isn't it? ☺️
📱Changing common sense, sensations I want to keep
Young people today might not even know that New Year's cards exist.
I've heard some kids look at the phone receiver icon on their smartphones and wonder, "Why is it this shape?"
When I think that they probably don't know how to use a public phone...
I feel a bit lonely, or perhaps it's just strange.
But I also fully understand that it's not a "bad thing."
Because common sense changes along with the times.
☎️But, remembering those days
When I was in junior high and high school,
I used the landline at home to call the person I liked.
"I wonder if her dad will answer..."
"Her mom's voice is a bit scary..."
All that nervousness remains in my heart as an "experience."
🌱I don't want to forget the "effort of conveying feelings"
Certainly, LINE is convenient, and it's an era where everything can be done on a smartphone.
But, by adding even just a single word by hand,
the weight of the words can change, can't it?
Writing by hand—just doing that makes the "feelings" deeper.
I get that feeling✍️💭
💬Have you written anything by hand lately?
Whether it's a note, a sticky note, or
have you ever delivered something to someone with your own hands?
If you'd like, please let me know in the comments☺️
Thank you for reading until the end today as well✨🌈
