VICTORIAN FEAR (Portrait of Ruin)

This may be sudden.
I used to draw illustrations as a hobby a long time ago.
That said, it was just drawing on the back of flyers or in a sketchbook, so it was strictly a hobby.

The season is autumn. There is even a phrase called "Autumn of the Arts."
This time, I would like to introduce a song related to paintings.

・What is "VICTORIAN FEAR"?

This is from a Nintendo DS game, used in the Castlevania series title "Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin."
It is the song that plays in the "City of Haze," the first painting world that the protagonists, Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Aulin, infiltrate.

・Impressions of the song

The intro has a piano-like tone, powerful and flamboyant.
It skillfully expresses a sense of speed that represents the excitement and tension of infiltrating a world for the first time.
From there, it transitions to a tone close to sweeping strings.
The buildings inside are basically places like old general stores, bakeries, and butcher shops, but since there are also places where aristocrats might be holding a party, it fits the elegant image perfectly.
The sense of unease felt here and there is also part of its charm.

・"I love you!!"

You might be wondering what this is all of a sudden, but there is actually an enemy character who says this.
His name is "Zacchino." He is apparently a dapper demon.

When a girl approaches, he kneels down, offers a rose, and hits on her by saying,"I love you!!"Since the title of the painting is "City of Haze," it might be modeled after modern England, but with his medieval aristocratic appearance and that personality,
he certainly has an impact that you won't forget once you've seen him.

By the way, when a man approaches, heutters some threatening words and stabs you.How terrible...

This time, I introduced a "song related to paintings."
That said, Portrait of Ruin is primarily a game about exploring the worlds of paintings.
Since there are many other songs related to paintings, I hope to post about other tracks someday.
