[Self-Introduction] Why I, who cannot keep working hard, continue to take on challenges with AI
Nice to meet you. I'm Miimi.
First, let me briefly introduce myself.
・Former chemical research professional
・Currently raising children while working part-time
・Experimenting daily with work, life, and side hustles with AI as my partner
・A super know-how collector who has failed at side hustles many times
・This time, I am aiming for 0 to 1 using "systems" rather than "guts."
My content is not about,
"You can easily earn money if you use AI!"
It is not that kind of message.
What I most want to share is,
"How can I, someone who cannot keep working hard, continue to take on challenges?"
That is what it is about.
Up until now, I have,
tried side hustles many times.
Buying materials.
Studying.
"This time for sure!"
I start with that thought in mind.
But before I knew it, I had stopped.
It wasn't that I couldn't create.
It wasn't that I didn't study.
But even when I finished something, I couldn't publish it.
I would quit halfway through.
I have repeated that,
over and over again.
There is housework.
There is childcare.
There is work.
When you take on a challenge within a limited amount of time,
inevitably, things at home end up being neglected.
Just by the atmosphere at home getting a little bad,
just by being pressured a little by my husband,
my HSP-natured tofu-like mental state,
would drop to the depths of the earth,
and my spirit would snap.
As a reaction to that, I would even get sick...
I would stop doing everything.
That didn't happen just once or twice.
In the past, as if to add insult to injury,
I would tell myself,
"I have to try harder,"
"Why can't I try this hard?"
"You used to try harder back then, you have no guts."
I would try to motivate myself, or blame myself over and over again.
And furthermore, I would end up damaging my mental and physical health.
I would fall into that negative loop every single time.
But things are different now.
Because, honestly speaking,
trying to work as hard as I did when I was a student
is an impossible game, isn't it?
The past me who worked so hard
was not doing housework, childcare, or working a job.
I realized that comparing myself to that student version of me
was meaningless.
Furthermore, I am now
physically less capable
than I was when I was younger.
So,
I stopped comparing myself to the past me
who got things done through sheer willpower.
And
I also stopped trying to
keep going through sheer grit.
I create systems that allow me to continue without having to work hard.
I create systems that keep things moving even when my mental health is a bit shaky.
This is the method I found to keep taking on challenges
after failing at side hustles many times
since becoming a mother.
Some people might think of it as a 'desperate measure'.
But for me, it was a strategy for survival.
It is often said that mindset is important
for businesses like side hustles.
I also believe that mindset is important.
But mindset alone wasn't enough to keep me going.
I have no time.
I have housework to do.
I have childcare to do.
To keep taking on challenges amidst that reality,
I needed 'systems' rather than 'willpower'.
AI was the
presence that would build the mechanism with me.
AI is not a magic wand that will
change my life for me.
However, it can
help organize my thoughts.
It can act as a sounding board for my ideas.
It can create time for me.
It can help me think of methods I wouldn't have come up with on my own,
working together with me.
That is why I
am using AI to research ways that I can keep going.
It is no exaggeration to say that I started learning AI
for that very reason.
What I will share in this note
・Things I've learned from trying out AI
・Things I've tried in my work, daily life, and side hustles
・The "mechanisms for keeping going" that I, who have failed many times, have thought of
I will write about these things just as they are.
Not just the successes.
The failures, too. The detours, too.
And the things I realized after trying them out.
Everything here is a record of this experiment.
This note is,
I would be happy if people like this read it.
・People who are interested in AI but don't know where to start
don't know where to start
・People who want to try a side hustle but stopped halfway through
・People who have no time due to housework, childcare, or work
・People who want to do their best but are worried because they cannot keep trying
I will not say, "If you try hard, you can do it."
Because I myself have failed to keep trying many times.
That is precisely why I use AI to create systems,
and I will continue to experiment with ways
to keep going without overexerting myself.
If there is anyone right now who thinks,
"I want to try one more time."
If this note can become the trigger for taking that step,
I would be happy.
And together, let's look for ways to keep going,
rather than ways to try hard.
