#6 A story to read on days when you want to believe you are loved
Believing becomes the courage to deepen love
“Am I really being loved?” I think this is a moment everyone experiences on nights when that question crosses their mind.
You worry about casual words or the slightest actions, and feel anxious, wondering, “Do they really care about me?”
For example, just because a LINE reply is late, or they don't pick up the phone right away, you worry about it so much that your heart feels restless.
Once doubt is born in your heart, that feeling just keeps growing, doesn't it?
“What if there is someone else they are interested in?”
“Am I really loved, or am I just someone convenient to have around?”
When you start thinking like this, you lose confidence in yourself, and the anxiety just spreads within your heart.
But you know, the fact that doubt is born is actually proof that you truly want to believe in that person and want to be loved.
“Believing” takes real courage, and sometimes it can feel scary.
But feeling down because you can't believe is, conversely, proof of how much you have opened your heart to that person.
Even if you can't fully believe, even if it's a lie, sometimes you need to believe.
Believing in your partner lightens your heart, and that power of belief nurtures the relationship between the two of you.
When doubt is born, you get dragged along by it, and your words and actions change too.
For example, when you feel a little anxious, you might overreact to your partner's small words or actions, or conversely, treat them coldly.
When you do that, your anxiety is unconsciously conveyed to your partner, and they may end up acting in a way that responds to that anxiety.
Because feelings of doubt can become a step toward destroying trust, it is important to organize that anxiety within yourself as much as possible and nurture the feeling of belief.
If your partner is busy and replies late, it might just be their circumstances.
By thinking about that reason, your heart should feel a little lighter.
By continuing to hold onto the feeling that you want to believe, your heart will naturally calm down, and you will be able to feel the relationship between the two of you deepening.
Thinking that believing is scary happens because you have been hurt in the past, or because you are afraid of losing what you have. But even so, believing is not about “entrusting everything to the other person.”
While cherishing your own feelings, trying to believe little by little makes love deeper and richer.
Today, just for a little bit, try saying it kindly to yourself.
Try believing in your own feelings, saying, “Maybe I'll try to believe.”
Just doing that might create a little bit of room in your heart.
It's okay. You are properly loved, and you have the power to believe in that love.
