Tips for Achieving Goals for Those Who Feel Stuck

Hello, I'm Yama🐈. This is my monthly review note, and this time it's for October.

My goals for October looked like this👇

1. Create a note membership

I did it! It's now open for applications!
Limited to 5 people. Please join by Wednesday, 11/6🫡

While thinking about the membership content, I asked myself again, What is it that I really want to do?.

💡 What I want to do

I think, perhaps, I want to love myself. And I think I want everyone else to love themselves more, too. Is it called self-acceptance? Something like that.

In my head💭

If I can achieve self-acceptance, I'll stop blaming myself more than necessary and stop going around in circles with my worries, and I should be able to be kinder to myself and those around me. If that happens, I think the world will become a kinder and more fun place.

It seems 'self-acceptance' will be my theme for a while.

2. Teach yoga at least 3 times

I held 3 in-person lessons and 2 online lessons.

[ In-person ]
My husband was the client for all 3, haha. I had planned to do it with a friend at a rental space, but it was rescheduled due to illness... what a shame.

[ Online ]
I recruited participants from the community I belong to,
'Mushoku University'. I was nervous about the online lesson with people I was meeting for the first time. I'm truly grateful to everyone at Mushoku University for being so kind! (If you're curious about Mushoku University, check it out here👇)

Thanks to my hard work practicing...

I signed a service contract with a studio👏

It was my first audition (hiring test), and I grabbed the opportunity from among many applicants! I'll do my best working at the studio starting in November.

3. Update note every Monday and Thursday at 21:00

I achieved this too! Honestly, I was worried if I could do it, but I was able to write more than I expected. I realized I have more things I want to write about than I thought. I'll try to keep up this pace for the rest of the year.

I thought I might be able to be a writer because I like writing, but I realized that I love weaving together the words that well up from within me. I was thinking about looking for new writing projects, but I'm still debating what to do. Also, I feel that
it's tough without a specialized field.

Is it okay to call myself a writer just because I write on note? lol

4. Try temporary staffing

As I wrote in a past article, I let go of various things, so money was super tight this month! (And yet, I'm somehow traveling to Korea while saying that.)

Even though it's a selective career break, it's honestly tough. Financial anxiety is really bad for your mental health!

For those aiming to be freelancers, I think starting as a side job while working as a full-time employee is the standard path after all. (In my case, I was starting from finding out what I even wanted to do, so it might be a bit different 😅)

For now, I wanted a fixed income and social insurance, so I registered with a temp agency. However, I didn't understand the tax side of things at all (being a dependent, blue tax returns, etc.), so I was too scared to take action. (*By the way, in our household, we keep our finances separate and split living expenses completely.) I finally have an image of how I can work in the most satisfying way, so I'll do my best to start working within November.

Until I started writing this note, I was feeling mentally down, thinking
I'm not making any progress at all...
I'm not earning as much as I'd like...

.

However, when I properly put it into words and looked back, I had achieved more goals than I thought!
It's important to pay close attention to what you have accomplished!

Goals come true when you "declare them on note"!

I think the trick to achieving goals is to make good use of note
.

I use note like an exchange diary with my readers. (Do young people even know what an exchange diary is... 😂?)

I shift gears by making a "I'll do XX declaration (specifically)" on note. It's one-sided, but by declaring it to my readers, I feel like I have to "keep my promise!"

The key is to declare a deadline along with it. And,
make sure to include a review as a set! If you have things you want to do but keep procrastinating and not moving forward, please give this a try.

I'll do this next month

I will end by declaring my goals for November.

・Start working as a temp (get a fixed income, social insurance, and peace of mind)
・Start membership activities (I will deliver quality time!)
・Review yoga/RYT200 videos and practice in lessons (increase expertise)

Let's do this! 💪
