I sought beautiful Japanese, and became a warlord.

Recently, I have been interested in polite language and the slightly older, beautiful Japanese reminiscent of the early Showa era.
I admire it✨.



Words that are no longer used much today, and phrasing that is a bit indirect but elegant.

I think it's wonderful.


I would like to incorporate it into my writing little by little.

…Or so I think, but

it seems I am using it incorrectly.
The more I try to write politely,
sometimes, I turn into a warlord.

"I understand."

"I am grateful."

……That is not quite that old.

What I am seeking is a bit more, you know,

the elegant Showa era.

Not the Warring States period.

So, if my recent writing seems strangely pompous or suddenly travels back in time,

"Ah, they are just trying out various things right now"

I would appreciate it if you could think of it that way.
I plan to return to the modern day eventually.

Probably.




And lately, I have been reading 'The Ethics of Boredom and Idleness'.

The title makes it sound difficult, but it is easier to read and more interesting than I expected.

I am still in the middle of it, so I cannot say anything arrogant.
For now, while thinking about leisure and boredom, I am searching for beautiful Japanese, and occasionally becoming a warlord.

It is quite busy.
