The heat continues ☀ Why not sing your favorite songs and let it all out❓️【September New Project Karaoke Baton】
A project initiated by my friend in the note world, Chainner,【Mieharu Karaoke Late Summer Version】seems to be spreading more than expected, and these days I'm already worried about whether I can keep up with everyone's articles🙇
Well, since I was personally nominated by Chainner, I'm going to start on my Karaoke Baton article PART 2✊️
Since this is my second time, I will omit the rules, so please forgive me💦
For details, please see Chainner's article above ⬆️ or my previous article❗️⬇️
Last time I picked 3 songs from a band I was a fan of in junior high school, so this time...
It's a bit simple, but I'd like to select from a band I was a fan of in high school😅
① "Kimi wa 1000% / 1986 Omega Tribe"
Even though I say high school, it was right after I moved up from junior high to high school💦
Although I managed to get into my school of choice, it was a first semester where I was just irritated by the human relationships around me (mystery).
At that time, a young man named Carlos Toshiki appeared, taking over the Omega Tribe part from Kiyotaka Sugiyama & Omega Tribe, which had disbanded at the end of the previous year, and debuted with this song.
Oh man, this song is so refreshing✨
For me, whose heart was pitch black at the time (mystery), it was like a breath of fresh air🎵
Videos of Kiyotaka Sugiyama singing the opening part of this song as a joke sometimes pop up on YouTube, but it's a shame they seem to get deleted right away🥺
② "Skip Beat / KUWATA BAND"
From the autumn of 1985, Southern All Stars went on hiatus due to Hara-san's maternity leave.
Since then, Southern has gone on hiatus and made comebacks several times, but this might have been the first one.
So, how would the members spend their time until Hara-san settled down and returned❓️
Naturally, the one who gets the most attention is the vocalist Keisuke Kuwata, but instead of a solo project, he appeared on the music scene again by forming a band called 'KUWATA BAND' for a limited one-year period in 1986🎸
Anyway, I still can't forget the headline in Tokyo Sports at the time regarding this song❗️
<Kuwata's Lewd Song, Banned from NHK or what? >🤣
Tokyo Sports has a legend that the only accurate thing in it is the date, but I'd like to add that their pro-wrestling news is also accurate📰
Because of that, once I became a high school student and started commuting by train, I was a high school student full of 'old man' vibes who would often quickly skim the pro-wrestling articles in Tokyo Sports (technically, in Hiroshima Prefecture, it's 'Kyushu Sports') at the station kiosk while waiting for the train👨
The headline I saw there was the one I mentioned earlier 😆
The small "ka?" at the end is so typical of Tokyo Sports 😂
The song released after that was Skip Beat, and I realized, "Ah, so it was this song!" 💡
NHK has changed, so they would probably play this song without any issues now, but back in 1986, the wall at NHK might have still been high... 💦
Does anyone happen to know if this song was actually broadcast on NHK? ❓️😅
③ "Resistance / TM Network"
Around the end of my second year of high school, I was so busy with the brass band management and student council work that I ended up catching a cold that turned into pneumonia, leading to an incident where I had to be hospitalized 😵
It was a six-day, five-night hospital stay, but unlike today, there were no smartphones, so there were few ways to kill time 🏥
My mother bought me Weekly Pro-Wrestling, but I was so bored that I finished reading it in no time 📖
For the rest of my free time, I spent it mostly listening to the radio 📻️
When you listen to the radio all the time, the hit songs of that era play quite often.
Thanks to listening to the radio so much, there are three hit songs that remind me of my hospital stay at that time: Misato Watanabe's "Kanashii ne," Kiyotaka Sugiyama's "Kaze no LONELY WAY," and this song, "Resistance" by TM Network.
The reason I chose "Resistance" out of those three is that we performed this song on stage with the brass band at our final school festival, which was held in June when I started my third year of high school 🥁
So, I chose this song as a symbol of the first half of 1988, when I moved from my second to third year of high school 🎵
What's more, I acted all important and played the drums, thinking maybe this would make me popular, but that fear was unfounded 🤣
↑
Actually, I have secretly uploaded that performance to YouTube (*ノェノ) Kyaa
Now that I've become an old man, I sometimes think that this period might have been the peak of my life so far 💦
Well, I have introduced three songs this time as well, but since you are asked to introduce between one and five songs, please feel free to introduce as many as you like.
And now, the two people I will pass the baton to are these two 🙇
Charirere-sama ❗️
Sakae-sama ❗️
I am truly sorry for the sudden nomination, but I would be happy if you could accept it 🙇 (By the way, there is a relief method if you don't want to take the baton, so please check my previous article or Chainner-san's article)
With the weekly forecast for Toyama showing extreme heat days again next week, it seems the lingering summer heat is still quite intense😓
Everyone, please take care of your health and stay safe😊
