[One Item a Day] 1/24 1/25 Nail polish: soak the contents into paper, and put only the bottle in non-burnable trash.
Good evening, this is KYOKO from Bonno-ji Temple.
I have decided to start "discarding," "letting go," "starting to use," or "using up" one thing a day, no matter what it is, to deal with the items that have increased too much.
Rules
◆ Discard one thing a day (starting to use a dead-stock item is also OK)
◆ Discarding multiple items of the same type on the same day counts as one
◆ It can be physical items, digital data, or even things that make housework easier
1/24 (Fri) Nail polish 2 bottles
1/25 (Sat) Lip balm 2 tubes
Come to think of it, I bought two bottles of nail polish around November.
I didn't discard the nail polish I wasn't using at that time. I guess this is what causes things to pile up, haha.
But I'll consider it a win since I noticed within three months, haha.
In the basket with the unused nail polish, there were two unused lip balms, so I got rid of those too.
Since nail polish contains flammable substances, my local government says to soak any remaining contents into paper or cloth and put them in burnable trash, and only the bottle goes into non-burnable trash. (It seems this can vary by municipality.)
Keeping a record like this is good because I look up and write down how to sort the trash, so it stays "vividly in my memory" rather than just being "vague."
