[Self-Help Poem] The Magic of a Smile
The carriage emerging from the palace
is the one you are always riding in
I, who can only sell pumpkins,
am not allowed to speak to you
or even touch you
Is it because our social status is different?
Is it because I have no money?
That's not it.
That wasn't it.
The shadow cast upon my face was what kept you at a distance.
Let's make use of the power of laughter in our daily lives, no matter what.
For example, even just looking in the mirror in the morning and giving a little smile is effective.
It is known that even a fake smile tricks the brain into thinking it's having fun, causing the secretion of positive hormones like serotonin.
Because of that, you can start your day in a good mood, and your self-esteem will likely improve as well.
Look, you have a better face when you smile.
It's like a different person from the face that was just dug up from the dirt.
Rather than locking sadness away in your face,
it feels better to release your joy.
Oh,
did you perhaps come here drawn by my smile?
I knelt down on the spot,
and with the best smile,
I took the princess's left hand in mine.
It seems that a smile has turned me into a prince.
