It's not just about minpaku. Travel memories are born from local charm — The Road to Opening a Minpaku Vol. 52 —
When I first started my minpaku,
"Keep the room clean and welcome the guests."
I thought that was the most important thing.
Of course, that idea hasn't changed even now.
But as I continued to operate, I realized one more important thing.
A minpaku is not the purpose of a trip, but a base for enjoying it—that is what I realized.
My minpaku is located in Gifu City.
Nearby, there are
Gifu Park
Nagara River
Kawaramachi
Gifu Great Buddha
Inaba Shrine
and other tourist spots where you can feel the history.
It is relatively accessible from Gifu Station, making it a very attractive area for strolling.
And speaking of Gifu at this time of year,
Nagara River Cormorant Fishing.
It is a traditional culture representing Gifu that many people visit every year, and
at my minpaku too,
"I came to see the cormorant fishing."
There were many groups of guests who said that.
However, it seems that popularity is high during Obon and the end of the season in October, and many days are already booked.
For those planning a trip, booking early is recommended.
On the other hand, currently the Gifu Castle keep is closed for preservation and repair work.
It is a little disappointing, but
there are many places to enjoy, such as strolling through Gifu Park and the Mt. Kinka Ropeway.
Tourist spots are also changing little by little.
That is why I believe it is important to provide the latest information.
Recently, I have been using the "Latest Updates" feature on Google Maps to
share information about tourist facilities, restaurants, and seasonal events.
It is not just about introducing the lodging.
"Since you are coming all the way to Gifu, I want you to enjoy Gifu even more."
I continue with that thought in mind.
Private lodging is a job of renting out rooms, but
what I really want to provide
might be travel memories.
"That restaurant was delicious, wasn't it?"
"I'm glad I was able to see the cormorant fishing."
"I want to come to Gifu again."
I would be truly happy if my private lodging could be one of those memories.
Moving forward,
not only through private lodging,
but also by sharing the charm of Gifu together,
so that our guests can enjoy an even better trip,
we will continue to refine our services every day.
