Reflections on Reality Transurfing 24: 'Goal Selection and Slides'
I have been reflecting on external intention up to this point. In the past, I failed to break out of a state of 'I think I get it 🤔, but I'm not sure 🤔' regarding this external intention, and I failed to incorporate Transurfing into myself as living knowledge.
At that time, my own consciousness was strongly identified with my reason (that is, the ego), so I believed that reason should take priority in everything, and that the subconscious (that is, the soul) should do its work according to what reason decided.
However, I now understand that in the overall picture of individual consciousness, reason is only a very thin layer on the surface. And when I re-examine external intention from that perspective, I can say that when a person intends something, if that intention has some meaning in their life, it is the subconscious (soul) that is working in advance.
At this time, the soul uses various means (such as signs, inspiration, and synchronicity) to work on reason, leading it as if reason itself had discovered that goal (in the form of a desire). If reason intends to realize that goal in this way, it can be said that there is a high possibility that it will be realized.
However, for example, if that goal is extremely difficult to achieve by normal standards, or if one doesn't even know how to achieve it in the first place, reason, while intending to realize that goal, will view its own intention negatively. If the soul and reason are not in alignment in this way, the goal will not manifest, even though it is possible.
As a practical matter, as I have clarified in previous articles, there are some desires that have no prospect of being realized (the soul does not want that goal), but even if you subtract those, many people should still have desires left. Some of these include cases where the soul and reason are in alignment from the beginning, but there is no need to explain much about this. If the soul feels pleasure (excitement) about the goal, the method of achievement is visible, and reason is also positive that it can be achieved, then all that remains is to do what needs to be done to achieve it, if anything.
But such desires are often not desires for the person, but merely intentions. Of course, there may be cases where that is not the case, but even if it were a desire, it should have almost no excess potential. In other words, it means that you are not giving that desire high importance.
Excluding goals that are closer to pure intention than desire, or goals that the soul does not want, what remains are only the goals that the soul wants but the reason thinks might be impossible. This type of goal should be a desire in the practical sense.
I may be repeating myself, but in this type of goal, the soul and reason are not in alignment, so external intention will not work as it is. In other words, the goal will not be realized. So, what should be done?
For a goal to be realized, external intention must be activated. For that to happen, the soul and reason must be in alignment. And here, the soul wants it. If so, there is only one thing to do.
That is to change reason from negative to positive.
In other words, you just need to persuade your reason, which is feeling weak by saying 'Isn't it impossible? 😟', to feel 'I feel like I can do it somehow 🙂' instead.
Now, why does reason feel 'it's impossible' in the first place? The ostensible reasons are things like 'Because this hurdle is really high' or 'I don't know how to do it,' but thinking that way is quite natural in itself.
On the other hand, even if the hurdle for achieving a goal is very high, there should be times when you can think, 'No, but it's okay.' What this means is that here, the high hurdle is just a fact, and no importance is given to it. This is the pattern I explained earlier where the soul and reason are in alignment.
Conversely, the reason why reason becomes negative toward achieving a goal is not because the method of achievement is difficult itself, but because you are giving excessive importance to the fact that it is difficult. And the reason that happens is, in the first place, because you are giving too much importance to the goal itself. In this way, the problem of importance appears everywhere in life. Or rather, it can be said that importance is related to almost all problems in life.
Anyway, now we can finally see what needs to be done. That is, to persuade reason to be positive about the realization of an intention, first of all, you must remove the importance you have given to that goal.
The same thing can be said about this as what I wrote in the articles about Volume 1, so please review it in articles like this one.
Also, there is an article like this on BLOG in SPIRE, so please read it as well. Here, importance is explained at a slightly higher level, but the point is that importance is 'determined not by whether it is actually important, but simply by how much you have thought about it.' I think your understanding of Transurfing will deepen further if you take this into account.
Now, regarding leading reason to the positive, Zeland provides another idea. This is a technique called a slide, but what do you imagine when you hear the word slide? People of my generation (born in 1971) would know that a slide refers to projecting positive film onto a screen through a projector, or the positive film itself. But for the younger generation, a slide is thought to refer to each sheet made with presentation software.
These two are the same thing; in the days before computers and projectors existed, presentations were done using analog methods. The reason PowerPoint sheets are called slides is a remnant of the past. By the way, many people may not be familiar with the term positive film, but this is what it is.
Photographic film actually comes in two types: positive film and negative film. The more common of the two is negative film, where the colors are inverted on the film. When this is printed onto photographic paper (which is paper-based film), the inverted colors are inverted again, and the realistic colors are reproduced on the paper. This is the mechanism of a standard photograph. In other words, negative film is film designed with the intention of being transferred to paper.
On the other hand, to create slides as described above or to shoot movies instead of printing on paper, you need film where the colors are not inverted—that is, film that captures the colors as they appear to the eye. This is positive film. Positive film is also called reversal film.
The reason I went to the trouble of explaining this is that the 'slides' Zeland talks about are based on this positive film motif. I thought it would be difficult to understand without knowing about positive film or slide screenings, so I took a slight detour. Now, with that explanation in mind, let's look at what Zeland means by 'slides,' while quoting his own explanation.
A human being cannot perceive the world around them completely objectively. It is similar to you inserting a slide into a projector to view an image. Ordinary uniform light passes through the film and is converted into an image on the screen. The screen is perception, and the light is the surrounding world. So, what is a slide? It is a model that represents our worldview, that is, our understanding of this world.
By Vadim Zeland (the same applies to subsequent quotes)
There is an expression, 'colored glasses.' While it can refer to simple sunglasses, it is usually used to mean 'viewing the world through colored (prejudiced) glasses.' You can think of slides as being somewhat similar to that. However, 'colored glasses' only says that you are viewing the world through prejudice. If the color is dark or garish, you can imagine that the world that person is seeing is quite biased, but that is all.
In contrast, a slide is something that reflects that person's worldview, values, and way of understanding things. Naturally, if that person has prejudices, they should be reflected as well, but that is not all that is reflected in the slide. Also, a person does not possess just one slide; one human being owns many slides. Well, people who love glasses own many pairs themselves, don't they?
Each person's image of themselves and the surrounding world is, in many cases, far from the truth. Our slides are distorted. For example, suppose you are worried about some of your shortcomings and feel inferior because of them. This is because you think your shortcomings are also undesirable to others. Then, when interacting with people, you insert a slide of inferiority into your 'projector' and see everything in distorted colors.
Here, the inferiority reflected in the slide is used as an example, but the point is the bolded part. This indicates that you are projecting your own inner inferiority onto others. If we were only dealing with the psychological concept of projection, we could just write 'projection' as 'projection.' As we proceed, you will see that a slide is a technique aimed at explaining the phenomenon of projection in an easy-to-understand way, while also turning it to your advantage.
A slide brings distortion to the image others have of you. A slide is an image in which reality is distorted. A slide is something in your head, not in the heads of other people.
For example, suppose you think your appearance is not very attractive. If this thought does not make you too anxious, no distortion occurs. It is as it is. However, the problem lies not in your thoughts about your appearance, but in the influence the slide has on your life.
If you are anxious about your appearance, you have created a slide in your head that says, 'I am not beautiful,' and you are viewing the surrounding world through that slide as if through a filter. This is a slide. It is fixed only in your head.
It starts with 'what you think about your appearance,' and then it says, 'if you are not anxious about that thought, no distortion occurs.' This can be interpreted as meaning that regardless of how one looks, if you do not give it importance, a slide about it will not be created.
However, if you are anxious about your appearance (= if you give it importance), it becomes a slide and is projected onto the surrounding world. If you understand the theory of Transurfing up to this point, this is easy enough to understand.
A slide acts in two ways. First, a slide distorts the image of one's place in this world and also distorts the image of the relationship between that person and the people around them. Second, it distorts the person's image of the outside world. In particular, everyone tends to find the characteristics of their own slides in the people around them. For example, suppose a person dislikes some innate flaw in their personality. That person tries to hide it far away from themselves so that it does not come into their sight. However, you cannot apply a blur effect to an undesirable slide, and that slide stays in your head and does its job. The person harbors the illusion that other people think and behave the same way they do. If you do not like a certain part of your nature, you tend to find the same thing in other people. In other words, you are projecting yourself onto other people.
(Omitted)
Projection is the spilling out of dissatisfaction with oneself, which has been pushed into the subconscious, toward the people around you. People do not want to scold themselves for having bad sides. Therefore, they try to find these bad sides in others. People often willingly scold others because they themselves do not like something within themselves.
In reality, there are not only the patterns of projection written here, but also more complex and subtle ones. One thing I can say is that as spirituality improves, that is, as the level of consciousness rises, such projections subside. This is because it is gradually understood that everything is one. If everything is one, then both oneself and others are the same one, which also means that the individuality of my ego and your ego as seen on the surface is an illusion. The fact that the individuality of the ego is an illusion means that the ego has no sin or responsibility. If this understanding begins to occur, even if not clearly at first, then to that extent, projection will disappear. After all, you cannot project something that is an illusion. That was a digression.
What is the basis of a slide? What kind of film is the slide attached to? It is a film called importance. How many times have we returned to this word? If your appearance is important to you, it is your own appearance that is making you anxious. If your appearance is not important to others, the slide is not in the heads of others. It is only in your head. A person's lackluster appearance is part of the familiar stage set for the people around them. This is because it has no meaning to them. It is only important to the owner of that appearance. It is just a matter of the appearance being lackluster, nothing more. What makes a lackluster appearance ugly is precisely the slide of importance.
Zeland explains in more detail here what I touched on a little earlier. Yes, a slide is something that represents one aspect of the workings of importance. However, if that is the case, how can we successfully persuade our reason using slides? Let's look a little further.
Usually, a black-and-white inverted negative slide brings about the alignment of soul and reason. As you know, in such cases, external intention definitely acts. When external intention catches the owner of a negative slide, it carries them to a sector where the negative is completely developed. The movement does not happen all at once, but little by little over time, and it continues without interruption as long as the slide is in the head. By creating importance, even the slightest detail you actually draw into your negative slide will appear more and more clearly, exposing every flaw.
I have already explained that bad premonitions often come true, but this is not a desire. However, because the soul and reason align regarding the fact that the anticipated event (which has the same meaning as a goal because it is what happens as a result) will become reality, external intention acts on it, and it becomes reality.
The term 'negative slide' appears here. This is confusing for those who are knowledgeable about photography and film, but the word 'negative' used here does not refer to a 'photographic negative.' It simply means a slide with negative content. Let's leave aside whether this is good or bad, as it is Zeland's sense of coining terms. As long as the meaning is understood correctly, there is no problem.
As for what is reflected in a negative slide, the only example given in the explanation so far has been an inferiority complex. However, since a slide is a projection, it can be said to refer to negative thoughts or feelings about oneself or things related to oneself. Although Zeland does not explain it explicitly, I believe that the reason a negative slide is developed (=realized) by external intention is because such negative thoughts about oneself are related to karma. In the first place, the physical body we are born with is itself one of the manifestations of karma.
Therefore, just like with bad premonitions, it seems that even though the soul does not desire such experiences, as long as the reason is being negative, it is willing to let you have bitter experiences.
For us, if it is a color positive slide, it is worth creating. Such a positive slide will undoubtedly work just like a negative slide. Let's direct the positive aspects of our personality toward ourselves. Let's imagine the best version of ourselves. If we do that, the people around us will accept us in that way as well. This is where another positive feature of slides appears. It is available to us, and one could say it would be a waste not to use it.
Now, up to this point, we have looked at the negative aspect of slides, namely, negative slides. As you have read, negative slides cannot be used to persuade reason. What can be used for that is the positive slide, which has finally appeared here. Furthermore, by writing 'color,' it has also become clear here that negative slides were actually black and white (which is relatively unimportant) 😌 That is all for this time.
I wanted to summarize this a bit more compactly, but there was really nowhere I could cut corners, and this is probably the longest article so far, but thank you for reading until the end 🙏
