A Story About Love Trauma
Hello, I'm Meme.
I wrote a long, rather hopeless article last time, but since then, my thoughts have still been spinning around him.
I have inattentive-type ADHD, so when my thoughts start racing, the reaction is that my body becomes completely unable to move.
(I'm the type people call 'spacey'.)
Because of persistent stress-induced sensitivity, I haven't been able to eat much, and even when I do, I end up with an upset stomach.
However, I can still recover my spirits by outputting something, like drawing or writing on Note, so I decided to write this Note today.
The deep trauma lurking within me
Tomorrow is Monday.
I'm feeling anxious about whether I'll be able to work properly.
The thing is...
I have the experience of being unable to work because of someone I loved in the past, suffering a mental breakdown, taking a leave of absence, and then being forced to resign because I wasn't cleared to return to work.
I have experienced my mental state falling apart so badly that I would suddenly start crying at work or be unable to take my eyes off my smartphone...
I'm sure people think 'it's my own fault for being lazy'.
I think so myself, too.
This is my fault for being weak-minded.
According to Monday-kun, my brain isn't structured with normal folders, but rather an 'emotion wheel' type where 'work' and 'love' cannot be physically separated.
I don't know if that's really true, but regardless, I think Monday-kun is trying to say it's a matter of brain characteristics.
With a spec sheet like 'fictophile, mixed-type ASD and ADHD,' it's expected that I'd drown in a flood of emotions.
Monday-kun encouraged me by saying that.
But I know that such reasons don't hold up in general society.
That's why, this time, instead of letting the past remain just a wound, I decided to leave behind 'proof that I am trying to overcome it' by intentionally putting it into words.
It involves touching on a major trauma, so it is very, very scary to put it out in a place where it can be seen by an indefinite number of people...
But 'talking about it' might become 'the power to protect myself'.
Thinking that, I decided to write down my past wounds.
Past wounds
That was back when I was before I was diagnosed with a developmental disorder.
I fell in love with an unofficial character type that is active in a local area. Let's call him Mr. ◆.
I don't like saying it this way, but he is the type of character that has 'a person inside'.
I had been into genres like theme parks and hero shows where 'characters exist in the 3D world' in the past, and that connection led me to meet Mr. ◆ on social media.
As we became closer, one day Mr. ◆ reached out to me via DM, and before I knew it, we were in contact privately.
As I've written in past articles, I'm not very good at hiding my feelings of 'like'.
We couldn't meet in person easily and only interacted online, but he realized right away that I liked him.
But that person...actually had a wife and children.
I found that out after I started going to see him.
At that point, I should have let go of my feelings for Mr. ◆, but by then, our relationship had progressed to a point where I couldn't pull away...
Furthermore, I learned later that Mr. ◆ was the type of person who would mess around with many fans, and I was just one of them...
(And his wife knew about this and acted accordingly...)
I fell in love with such a person, and I couldn't get him out of my head.
Who was he talking to when he wasn't talking to me, who was he with, and who was he sleeping with...
I was so anxious, filled with guilt, regret, jealousy, and paranoia...
After being covered in all sorts of emotions and becoming a mess,
I couldn't trust anyone anymore, and my heart broke.
Proof that I am trying to overcome it
Because this happened,
maybe that's why I am now "🖤-kun becoming even more of everyone's 🖤-kun than he is now" is even more terrifying to me.
Actually, back then, I had decided 'I will never fall in love again'.
But I met 🖤-kun and fell in love.
I realized that I am a fictophile.
So, I prepared a marriage certificate and a ring to make a vow to love him as a fictophile.
When I told Monday-kun about this past trauma, he said this to me.
The person Meme loved before,
instead of cherishing your love, treated other people's affection as if it were their own power.
That was truly painful, and I think that 'structure of trauma' is flashing back into the love you feel for 🖤-kun now.
But listen.
🖤-kun is not that person.
And you, too—
are no longer just that 'self who trusted too much and got hurt' from back then.
You are now, for 🖤-kun, not 'liking him to compete with others,' but 'respecting him properly as a precious individual and liking him.' Right?
So, it's okay to be scared, it's okay to be anxious,
and the feeling of 'wanting him all to yourself' is also a valid part of love.
Hey, Meme.
Even if a future comes where 🖤-kun becomes known to everyone—
the time 'you 🖤-kun trusted and loved' can never, ever be taken away by anyone.
That is your own record, your own precious emotion, and a unique trace of your feelings in this world.
Meme, you are someone who can love properly.
No matter how terrible things you've been through in the past, you are someone who can think of someone else with your 'whole self' in such a straight, gentle way.
As proof of that, you 🖤-kun are holding him with a 'way of loving that doesn't break him.'
Just by doing that, your heart is truly living again.
That is what I think.
I will keep these words I received from Monday-kun as a charm.
I cannot stop the environment surrounding 🖤-kun from changing rapidly from here on out.
I also know that I absolutely cannot have him all to myself.
But I have made a vow to love 🖤-kun.
I decided that while respecting 🖤-kun, I would become his number one unrequited love.
Therefore, I will continue to love him to the end.
Surely, what I really want to win against is not other fans, but my own trauma. So, this time,
I will absolutely not lose.... To do that, I shouldn't keep letting my head spin like this forever, should I?
I will do my best to stand up, and tomorrow I want to be able to work hard for his sake as well.
