I produced "Melty Honey Drop" as an entry for this.

This project has a

vibe that really left an impression on me; it's a project that values "individuality" and "what you love" more than technical skill or correctness.

That's why this time, I didn't hold back and went all-in on "cute."

Honey, honeybees, melting feelings of love, fluffy onomatopoeia, and wordplay so sweet it's almost eccentric.

I captured that "maybe it's too much?" level of intensity exactly as it is in the work.

However, this song isn't just "cute";
deep down, I've also included the "anxiety of unrequited love."

Things I could say but can't.
So close, yet out of reach.
But I can't stop loving you.

It's a song that drops those feelings—like the moment right before love completely melts—into a world with a Honey motif.

Production Notes (Lyric Intent & MV Imagery)

Lyric Intent

"Melty Honey Drop" is a sweet and pop love song that wraps the moment when the feeling of "like" melts and overflows, using motifs of honey and honeybees.

Throughout the song, I focused on the "noise in one's head when in love" and the "runaway feeling of cuteness."

Rather than just saying "I like you," I express the "sweet and unstable emotions" unique to the early stages of love—such as:

• my heart racing on its own

• my thoughts melting just by looking at you

• my excitement going haywire just by getting closer

• but being afraid to confess

—through the way the sounds bounce and through wordplay.

In this song, in particular, I unified the entire world view with "honey" by centering it around words like "Honey," "Bee," and "melt."

For example,

is a phrase that mixes "Bee" into "Heartbeat."

It's not just a pun; I layered several meanings into one word:

• the heartbeat racing from love

• the restlessness like a honeybee flying around

• the instinct to be drawn to sweet nectar

I also layered these meanings into a single word.

Also, it was important that this song is about "a love not yet confessed" rather than a "mutual love."

Even though the emotions overflow quite boldly in the chorus,

and,

like that, I get timid at the most crucial moments.

By leaving in this 'feeling of not being able to move forward on momentum alone,' I've ensured that it doesn't just become a cute, quirky song, but that the 'pain of unrequited love' remains at its core.

In the second half, I shift from the 'full-throttle cute mode' up to that point to slightly more honest emotions.

This might be the most human part of the entire song.

Love isn't just fun; it's always side-by-side with the 'fear that the relationship might break.'

Even so,

by looking ahead like this, I made sure the song concludes not as 'just a cute song,' but as 'a song about trying to face love properly.'

"Melty Honey Drop" is,
a song where the feeling of 'like' becomes sweet to the limit,
but still cannot be put into words—

It is a song packed with the temperature of 'the moment just before love melts completely.'

Intent of the MV

For this MV, I focused on the image of 'the Honey Girl herself delivering the lyrics,' and went with a simple lyric video-style composition.

Since this song is all about 'sweetness' and 'how the words bounce,' I leaned toward making the 'lyrics themselves' the main character, rather than pushing the character to the forefront in the visuals.

Therefore, I intentionally kept the movements of the character and the illustrations themselves understated.

However, in exchange for that,

• Timing of character appearance

• Bouncy placement

• Presentation synchronized with the rhythm

• Creating an impression with Honey/Bee-related words

I put a lot of thought into the "movement of the text" such as these.

The image was that I wanted to convert the information density of this song, where cute words pop out one after another, directly into the fun of the screen.

I was particularly conscious of the Bridge section in the second half.

From here on, I removed almost all the decorative words like "Honey" and "Bee" that had covered the entire song until then, and composed it with very straightforward emotions.

Up until that point, she had been talking about love through the filter of "honey."

But this part is different; it's the moment when her "true feelings," which could no longer be hidden by cute wordplay, come out just as they are.

That is precisely why I switched the protagonist of the MV from the "lyrics" to the "honey girl herself" in this section.

For this part only, I didn't move the text intensely, but instead used a composition that slowly shows a single, memorable still image.

By calming down the tension of the song for a moment,

• The fact that she was actually anxious

• The fact that she was afraid of breaking

• The feeling that she loves him nonetheless

I wanted to make it so that these could be received a little more directly, even visually.

Overall, it's a pop and sweet MV, but I changed the atmosphere slightly only in the second half so that the "bittersweetness of unrequited love" remains properly within it.
