Aurora Station

There was a small station that appeared only on nights when the aurora flickered in the northern sky.

Its name was Aurora Station.

No matter how hard you looked during the day, you could never find it.

However, when the night sky was dyed with green and blue light, a small platform would appear in the middle of the snowy field.

The train that came to this station was very mysterious.

It emitted no smoke.

It carried no coal.

Then, what did it run on?

The station master would answer with a smile.

"This train runs on the light of the aurora."

A large glass pane on the roof collected the light spilling down from the night sky.

When the green lights gather, the train slowly wakes up,

and by the time the purple lights flow, it begins to run quietly.

Shhh—.

The whistle does not blow.

Instead, the sound of the aurora swaying softly is the signal for departure.

The train crosses mountains, passes through forests, and glides over frozen lakes.

Outside the window, the aurora filling the night sky dances rhythmically.

"Wow..."

The passengers are captivated by the scenery, and no one speaks.

In the quiet train car, only the gentle sound of the wheels on the rails echoed.

Before long, the eastern sky begins to brighten little by little.

Then, the aurora, too, slowly melts into the sky.

As the light fades, the train quietly returns to the station.

"We have returned safely again today."

When the station master says this and strokes the train's body, the train glitters happily.

That is why they say that even now, on nights when a beautiful aurora appears in the northern sky, a mysterious train is traveling quietly.

If, while traveling, you hear the gentle sound of rails being run upon from out of nowhere,

it might just be the signal that the train, filled with the light of the aurora, has departed from "Aurora Station."
