Some people dress the girl statue in the park. Some people say thank you.
Some people dress the girl statue in the park. Some people say thank you.
In the park I pass on my way to work,
there is a statue of a little girl.
Someone
has been gently dressing that statue.
When it's cold, she wears a scarf and a knit hat.
She has been dressed in red knit hats and white hats as well.
A few days ago, I noticed she had changed from a scarf to a cape, and the colors had shifted to a spring-like outfit, and every time I pass by,
my heart warms, thinking, "There are such kind people out there."
And today.
When I happened to look,
a small note had been left at the feet of the girl statue.
On it,
a message was written.
It was a thank you note to the person who had been dressing her.

There are truly so many wonderful people in this town.
People who,
without seeking anything in return,
quietly take action for someone else.
And people who notice that kindness,
and say "thank you."
I felt that such kindness
is quietly circulating through this town.
In this world,
there are many things
you wouldn't notice if you didn't know about them.
But,
when I learned what was actually happening,
and what truly exists,
I thought that passing that on to someone else
might also be an important thing to do.
Just a few minutes on my commute.
Today was another happy morning
where I touched the warmth of this town.
