My Gardener / Taku Tsumugi
I happened to find and borrow Taku Tsumugi's comic "My Gardener" at the library and read it 📖.
(Finished reading on March 7, 2022)

I was obsessed with Taku Tsumugi's works in my late teens and thought I had read them all, but I didn't know about this one.
When I looked it up, I found that this book was written after a 12-year hiatus.
Looking back at 2007, when this book was published, I was 30 years old.
I was struggling at the time and had drifted away from reading, so that must be why I didn't notice this book...
Anyway, this is my first Taku Tsumugi work in over 20 years.
Taku Tsumugi's soft illustrations are still as wonderful as ever.
It is a story that depicts the inner conflicts of adolescence.
Although I passed through adolescence a long time ago, it overlapped with the emotions I felt when I was struggling, and it was so poignant and warm that I found myself tearing up in places.
"There isn't a single person who God thinks is unnecessary."
Loneliness is just an illusion that we create ourselves.
If we could realize that, perhaps we could live with lighter hearts.
While looking into various things, I found out that Taku Tsumugi is now married and has become a pastor.
I would love to read Taku Tsumugi's works depicting the present, but I wonder if that is a dream that will never come true.
In any case, I hope that Taku Tsumugi, who gave me so much inspiration during my youth, is living a happy life. ஐ☘︎︎
I want to keep this book on hand to reread, so I will buy it again.
Just as I was saying that, I found a Taku Tsumugi paperback set on Mercari and clicked buy 🤣
