Self-Introduction of a Travel-Obsessed Mom
Hello.
I'm mayuu, living in Tokyo, struggling to balance my hobby of traveling with raising children. I don't want to give up the travel I love just because I'm a mother, and I want to go with my kids.
I'm in my 30s and raising two daughters, aged 0 and 4. (Currently on maternity leave.) Oh, and I'm a JAL land-based mileage collector, aiming for JGC someday while saving up LSP, haha. (I'll talk about that someday...)
Perhaps influenced by my travel-loving parents, travel has always been my hobby ✈️
Domestically, I've been to many places, and internationally, I've traveled to South Korea, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Guam, the UK, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy.

My older daughter has been to Naha, Miyakojima, Asahikawa/Furano, Seoul, Guam, and more; she's used to flying and is a 4-year-old who loves to travel.
She looks at maps and globes and even suggests, 'I want to go to XX next!' haha! It's the fruit of my early education, haha.

Going to unknown places, having various experiences, and eating delicious food makes you feel happy, doesn't it?
• I get restless if I don't have my next trip planned.
•I practically work just for travel.
• I'm always looking for cheap airfare.
• I don't mind doing pre-trip research.
• Thedopamine-rushing experienceof traveling has become an addiction.
I'm sure many of you can relate, right??
Here are my upcoming travel plans 💁♀️
26.3 Taipei
26.6 Hawaii
26.7 Seoul
26.9 Hong Kong
26.12 Kagoshima
27.3 Singapore & Kuala Lumpur
27.10 Bali
......
Are you crazy???
Even I think this frequency is insane, but there is a reason for it.
Now that I'm on maternity leave, I have time.
People often say students have time but no money, right? Working adults have money but no time. And they say in old age, you have time and money, but no health.
During maternity leave, I have both time and money. (Not really.)
No, I don't, but if I dip into my savings, I can make it work.
And I think being in my 30s is the generation that truly realizes the wonder of having time every single day.
Does the 'someday' when you'll go really ever come?
I'll go when I save money. I'll go when the kids get older. There are many reasons to postpone travel, but humans might die tomorrow, and children won't always come along on trips with their parents. Oh, and by the way, travel costs are cheaper while they are toddlers.
I want to reach the end of my life having done what I wanted to do!!! So I'm going!!!
However, traveling with kids limits the countries you can visit due to time differences, flight times, and safety, and the points you care about for hotels and flights are completely different from traveling as adults, right?? Yet, there are hardly any reviews or reports out there.
Since I'm planning so many trips and always prioritize the kids on our budget-friendly travels (we're in bed at the hotel by 8 PM), I hope to write about the tips, reports, useful items, and recommended places I've discovered from a mother's perspective that are unique to traveling with children.
