On Choosing Clothes for Short Men
Hello, this is Mayo.
Today, I would like to write about the struggles of choosing clothes, incorporating a bit of my own personal perspective.
It is about the issue that "it is actually quite a high hurdle for men around 160cm tall to try to be fashionable."
Fashion magazines and online articles often give advice like, "Let's wear a just-right size that fits you."
Theoretically, this is absolutely correct.
A just-right size refers to a magical size that fits your body lines perfectly.
However, when you go to a store, you are faced with the reality that our "just-right" size is not sold anywhere, aren't you?
Even if you pick up a size S, when you try it on, you often find that "Oh, the sleeves are too long" or "The length is too long and the balance is off."
In the end, the current situation is that you have no choice but to take it to a tailor or compromise a little when buying.
That said, recently people sometimes say, "Oversized clothes are in fashion, so wouldn't wearing something larger solve the problem?"
But this is another difficult issue.
If you are tall, it gives off a "deliberately disheveled" vibe, but when we wear it, it creates a strong "being worn by the clothes" look.

The scary part is that it ends up looking like a child forced to wear their older brother's hand-me-downs.
At times like this, you feel a bit lonely, as if you are the only one being left behind by fashion, don't you?
You might even blame yourself, thinking, "If only I were taller, I would have more options."
However, I would like to change the perspective a little here.
The fact that ready-made clothes don't fit is not your body's fault; it is simply that the "average" setting of the apparel industry does not fit you right now.
So, my suggestion is to try giving up on the pursuit of the 'perfect fit' for a while.
For example, why not consider adding women's size L or kids' size 160 to your options from the start?
You might think, 'But I'm a man, why would I wear women's clothes?' but in this day and age, if the silhouette looks good, it doesn't matter what the tag says.
You just need to cherish that feeling of 'Oh, this actually feels right' when you try it on, keeping it just for yourself.
The journey to find the perfect piece of clothing is exhausting, so start by choosing based on the criteria of 'I might be able to like myself a little more in this.'
So, it's not your fault that you can't find your size, and it would be great if you could enjoy fashion more casually and with more creative freedom.
If anyone else has the same struggle and knows of any recommended clothing stores, please let me know in the comments!
