🌾Cooking Millets: Barnyard Millet & Non-glutinous Foxtail Millet Edition
They say barnyard millet is the best among all millets for warming the body. Barnyard millet (hie)? Cold (hie)? But it warms you? Haha.
It's like a joke...
The Japanese language is truly profound and beautiful.
Every single hiragana character has a meaning.
Cold (hi)
Ice (hi)
Fire (hi)
Sun/Yang (hi)
Day/Sun (hi)
Spirit/Soul (hi)
It seems ancient Japanese people didn't use the sound 'hi' just for cold things, but as a sound to represent 'temperature.' The ancient people who created the Japanese language are amazing, but it feels like a miracle that we are still using almost the same Japanese today.
I want to cherish language.
