オーストラリアの知的障害者に関する投稿をMastodonというSNSで読みました。
そこには、医師の障害に関する知識不足のため、知的障害者は命の危険にさらされた際に、健常者よりも死亡する可能性が高いと書かれていました。
日本では、それ以前に、障害者施設職員による暴行や性的虐待の事例が数え切れないほどあります。
かけがえのない大人として生きたい。それが私たち人間の共通の願いではないだろうか。

I read a Mastodon post about people with intellectual disabilities in Australia. It stated that when their lives are in danger, they are more likely to die than those without, because doctors lack disability education.
In Japan, even before that, there are countless cases of people with disabilities being subjected to assault and sexual abuse by staff in disability facilities.
We all want to live as irreplaceable adults. That's a wish we share.
