Railway Sketch 5
This is a "Railway Sketch" series where I record railway illustrations drawn with colored pencils.
This time, I drew the vehicle shown below.

I tried drawing the EV-E301 series used on the JR Karasuyama Line.
It has the nickname "ACCUM" and is equipped with storage batteries.
Even in non-electrified sections, it can run as an electric train using electricity charged within electrified sections.
In the electrified section between Utsunomiya and Hōshakuji (on the Tohoku Main Line), it runs by receiving electricity from overhead lines via its pantograph, just like other electric trains.
Then, in the non-electrified section between Hōshakuji and Karasuyama, it lowers its pantograph and runs using the electricity it charged from the overhead lines while traveling through the electrified section.
What I felt while drawing it was that coloring the main green part of the front was difficult.
It wasn't just a matter of filling it in with green; when looking closely at the actual vehicle, it has a green and black border pattern, and I found it a bit challenging to color while balancing the green and black well.
