Something good happened recently in a membership I've been participating in!
I'd like to write about that today.
First, here is the membership I am participating in↓↓↓
This is an article for the editor course within Henichi-san's membership, and I belong to that group.
I'm just a newbie who joined in May🐤

Henichi-san is a former professional editor.
By some coincidence, I read Henichi-san's article, and since we are from the same hometown, our interaction began from there.
And so, there was a little event? within that membership. It's this.

What is it, you ask...
"Let's try a riddle!"
(I gave it a title on my own)
But... you might be wondering, what is a riddle?
Do you know about a program called "Shoten" that airs on Sunday afternoons?
"Shoten" is a program where people from all sorts of genres provide laughter.
(The variety of performers is also rich, isn't it?)
In that program
"Oogiri" (Comedy Improvisation)
Are you familiar with this familiar segment?
What occasionally appears in that segment is this type of riddle.
"What is like [A] and also like [B]?
The answer is [C], isn't it?"
In the article above, Henichi-san asked all membership participants to
"Summer"
try writing a riddle with this theme! He called for submissions.
When you think of summer, what comes to mind?
I decided to jump on this project (I love projects), so I thought about it for a bit and submitted two or three riddles to Henichi-san.
Then, Henichi-san replied with,
"Mashako-san, can you do more?"
Those words came back to me.
When I'm praised, I get happy and carried away.
From then on, until the submission deadline, no matter what I was doing or where I was, I started thinking only about riddles...
And as a result, it seems that 75 riddles were collected.
It's a surprise.
And it's 75 of them from 5 people.
By simple calculation, that's 15 each.

As a result, it developed into a major event called the
“Nazokake General Election”
where all members chose their top 5 riddles out of the 75.
We weren't told who the author of each individual riddle was.
We had a one-week period until the vote, and I really agonized over it before casting my ballot.
(Of course, I never cheated by choosing my own!)
And the results of that general election are in this article↓↓↓
And then, believe it or not, I received the Gold Prize!

Both of them naturally come with an obi, don't they?
Critique
Oh, this is a piece that aimed for an exquisite line! Since a yukata's obi and a book's obi are different things, you could call it a pun-based riddle, but since they both mean something wrapped around, you could also call it a situational riddle. Ah, but perhaps there were some men who voted blindly because of the killer word 'yukata'.
I'm happy, or maybe surprised.
It was worth working hard after being pushed by Henichi-san!
And someone else won the Silver Prize!
(Since that person and I are not direct acquaintances, I will withhold their name.)
For the Bronze Prize, both that person and I were chosen.

Nagashi-somen (flowing noodles), and a chance, I solve it as
The heart of it is, both are difficult to catch, aren't they?
Critique
This is not a pun, but a riddle based on the coincidence of the action of "grabbing."
Since "grabbing" is the same in both characters and meaning, it is somewhat difficult to create, but as expected, you took on the challenge and seem to have firmly grabbed the reader's heart.
And so, a two-class championship victory!!
How wonderful...
It was worth all the effort I put into thinking up riddles, sleeping or waking!
It's actually quite fun to make them, so if there are any more topics, I'd like to try thinking of some.
So, this article was just me wanting to brag about winning the riddle championship!!

This one is by the kind mother, shiiimo-san.
While she is going through a tough time with her child refusing to go to school, she continues to treat them with great, great love and sincerity.

There was no "punchline" to today's story, but a "punchline" is very important when writing an article.
Henichi-san's goal was to learn that from riddles.
It's quite fun to think about, so everyone, please give riddles a try!
