Wish Upon a Star | Tanabata Time Capsule
As a member of the Writing Club, I simply couldn't resist participating!
So, here are my three wishes.
① Make a ZINE and get it to sell at least a little!
② Get my paid magazine on track!
③ Don't get any more unhealthy than I already am!
Regarding ①, I don't have any particular plans to participate in the Literature Flea Market for now. (Maybe I'll change my mind later?) I just want to make one if I can. If possible, a ZINE that collects only the works I've submitted to the Shirokuma Literature Club. I'm rejecting my own essays because I don't really like them myself.
I've already done some preliminary research on the production side of things. It's still quite vague, but I feel like I can make it work. (Am I being too optimistic?) And for the selling part, I'll start by relying on friends and family. I wonder what I'll do if no one else buys it. But for now, I want to give it a try.
② The paid magazine I started this April. (The 1500 yen one.) It still lacks content. My writing style is poor, and I couldn't be more inexperienced. Even if you forgive my irregular updates, I'm still not satisfied with it myself.
But there are many things you only learn after trying. So maybe it was good that I challenged myself. I certainly can't say I'm successful yet. But the future is still unknown. All I can do is strive to provide content that brings even a little bit of joy.
As for ③, it goes without saying. In addition to my mental health issues, I have several chronic conditions. At the very least, I hope I don't develop any more illnesses, and that my current conditions improve even a little.
🎋🎋🎋
That was my greedy list of wishes!
My fondest Tanabata memory is when I was hospitalized in a psychiatric ward, and we all hung handmade strips of paper on a large, magnificent bamboo branch. The wishes everyone wrote on those strips were so earnest they made me cry. Things like 'I hope my illness gets cured,' 'I hope I get a job,' and 'I hope I find a place to live.'
Compared to that, I think my wishes are quite luxurious. There are people facing much greater difficulties in life and making very important wishes. My wishes aren't even at the level of being essential for survival. I want to make sure I don't forget to pray that everyone's wishes in this world come true.
🎋🎋🎋
When you write your wishes in an article like this, Kotoba-san will create a magazine for them. And apparently, a year later, they will dig them up to look back and see if they've come true.
You don't have to be a member of the Writing Club to participate, so why don't you all give it a try?
