[Open Letter from a Citizen] The Cry of an 'Ordinary Middle-Aged Man' Demanding a Vote of No Confidence in the Cabinet
[Open Letter from a Citizen] *I record here all my anger and lack of confidence after being continuously ignored.*
In May of the seventh year of Reiwa, as a Japanese citizen, I formally submitted a 'Request for a Motion of No Confidence in the Cabinet' to the representatives of each political party. This was an act to express my will as a sovereign, not through words, but through 'action' regarding a sinking Japan.
Below, I will clearly state everything along with my records.
[Record of Activities for the Motion of No Confidence in the Cabinet]
■ Saturday, May 10: Handed an envelope addressed to Representative Taro Yamamoto to Secretary-General Takai at the Reiwa Shinsengumi 'Chat Meeting' (Aichi Prefecture).
■ Monday, May 12: Formally mailed the 'Request for a Motion of No Confidence in the Cabinet' via registered mail to the representatives of the LDP, CDP, JIP, JCP, DPP, and other political parties.
■ May 13–14: All registered mail was confirmed as delivered (verified via tracking numbers).
■ Thursday, May 23: Confirmed at the National Diet Document Management Division (Mr. Soma) that the documents had not reached the political party boxes.
■ Same day, telephone confirmation with each party: - LDP (11:52): 'We will pass it on.' - Komeito (12:58): Replied that it was handed to the party leader. - CDP (13:25): 'Sharing opinions.' - JIP (13:35): 'There are too many to know (but we checked).' - DPP (13:50–14:10): Busy, could not connect. - Sanseito (13:55–14:00): Busy, could not connect. - JCP (14:15): 'Received. It is difficult for one party to act, but we are sharing it.' - SDP (14:27): 'There are many, so I don't know. It hasn't arrived. We will check.' - Conservative Party: Could not confirm as contact information was unknown.
[Why make this public?]
This is not merely a complaint. It is a 'demand' formally issued by a sovereign to the legislature based on Article 69 of the Constitution and Article 56 of the Diet Act. Despite this, many political parties remained silent, ignored it, and failed to fulfill their responsibilities.
I want to ask: Does a nation where politicians so lightly disregard the voices of the people have a future?
[Main Points of the Request (Summary)]
1. The government neglects important policies such as the abolition of the consumption tax, flat-rate benefits, and tax cuts, while wasting political resources on non-urgent issues (emergency clauses, selective separate surnames for married couples, etc.).
2. Existing political parties do not keep past promises and cling to vested interests.
3. Election pledges are not kept, and accountability is not fulfilled.
4. The My Number system and administrative reforms involve a lot of wasted tax money and have low effectiveness.
[To the Citizens]
I am just one nameless person. I have no money or status. I am just an 'ordinary middle-aged man'.
But I am tired of living in a country that is silently sinking. That is why I took action. And I have kept a record.
Next, it is your turn. On July 20th, your vote will be the first strike to break the silence.
Do not stay silent; cast your vote. It is 'you,' the sovereign, who will change politics.
