Watching 'Ai no Sato' helped me understand why love doesn't go well.
──While watching, I noticed a common thread──
Big thanks!!
It's Masaya.
I was enjoying my freedom during the Obon holiday, but since some plans got canceled,
I thought, 'Maybe it's okay to watch Netflix to the fullest for once.'
So, I watched 'Ai no Sato,' which had been recommended to me a while ago.
For our generation, 'Ainori' might be more familiar.
It's a romance documentary show where men and women aged 35 to 60 live together in search of their final love.
I happened to start from season 2, but this was just too interesting.
Before I knew it, I had finished watching the whole thing in two days.
There is something I thought about many times while watching.
Love really stirs up emotions.
Joy.Expectation.Anxiety.Jealousy.Doubt.Loneliness.The desire to be acknowledged.
When it comes to love,
even people who are usually calm get swallowed up by their emotions.
In the show as well,
there are people who express their feelings too aggressively and end up driving the other person away.
Conversely,
there are people who are too afraid of being disliked to express themselves.
Watching both of them,
'What a waste,'
I thought.
But,
this isn't just about love.
I realized it's the same for all human relationships.
If you only prioritize your own feelings, the other person suffers. If you prioritize the other person too much, you end up suffering yourself.
That's why
love
isn't a game where one person is right.
You are important.
The other person is important.
I think it's a game of constantly searching for that balance.
In the past,
when I thought, 'I want to get close to this person!',
I would go straight for it (laughs).
But now,
while I still cherish those feelings,
I wonder how the other person is feeling right now?
I've become able to think about things like that too.
Of course,
I'm still a work in progress (laughs).
But,
it doesn't have to be perfect.
It's fine to evolve little by little.
Love is
a time to get to know the other person, but actually,
it is
also a time to get to know yourself.
When do you feel anxious?
What do you end up expecting?
What are you looking for?
When you fall in love,
you start to see parts of yourself you hadn't even noticed before.
That's why,
both relationships that went well
and relationships that didn't go well
have real meaning.
Falling for someone,
breaking up,
getting rejected,
all of it
becomes material to build the next version of yourself.
The reason relationships don't work out might be because things lean too much toward either yourself or the other person.
That's why I think
love is also about the middle path.
It's not just about the other person. It's not just about yourself.
Keep searching for that middle ground.
I think that is what makes a relationship last.
If you are currently struggling with love,
before you try to change your partner,
please take a moment to look into your own heart.
That one step
can change not only your relationship with your partner,
but your life from here on out.
Love is something for falling for someone,
but
in truth,
it might be a time for learning to love yourself more.
Who you meet is important. But who you become is even more important.
Well then, see you later.

[For those who felt even a little resonance]
I share real, intense stories that I can only tell, and my real daily life as I evolve, which I cannot talk about on note.
If this resonates with you, please take a look at this newsletter.
I share my true feelings that I don't show publicly,
and 'deeper realizations' that I only touch upon here.
I would be happy to connect deeply only with those who can somehow understand this feeling.
