The luxury of a day spent doing nothing.
Perhaps it's because I was working throughout Golden Week.
This sudden weekday off feels strangely vast.
Today, I decided to do nothing.
No plans, no purpose, just a day dedicated to zoning out.
…Though, the fact that I made sure to brew coffee beforehand makes me think I'm a bit cunning myself.
As I sit down on the wide lawn, I hear the voices of children in the distance, overlapping with the chirping of birds.

Where there is nothing, yet everything is there.
The wind is soft, and every time it passes through the trees, it seems to be saying, "Well now, there's no need to rush so much."
I take a sip of the coffee I brewed at home.
It has started to cool down a little, but the temperature is just right.
Perhaps I am at that same temperature right now.
Not too hot, not too cold—just a temperature that is fine for simply being here.
Before I knew it, I hadn't thought about anything for several minutes.
…No, to be precise,
I think I was thinking about trivial things like, "I wonder if it's okay to take a nap right here," or
"But it's such a hassle to take my shoes off."
The smell of the grass, the flickering of the light,
the lingering taste of the coffee.
Putting all of that together,
I'm just thinking, "This is nice."
There are days when that is enough.
Even the food I bought at the convenience store looks a little special, and even the bottled water tastes surprisingly delicious.
It's a strange thing, but when you eat outside, almost everything tastes good. I suppose the fresh air is doing a good job.
"Doing nothing" is actually quite busy.
Because you really spend time feeling things.
Thinking that, I take another sip of coffee.
Ah, this is nice.
This is fine for today.
No, this is perfect.
A day spent
fully committing to doing nothing.
