Dawn of Symbiosis #34 Chapter 11 Section 10: Light in the Palm - Serial Novel
At the community center in the heart of the city, a quiet information session was held every weekend.
It was a small gathering to introduce a new system called "Aya/Yura."
People who had gathered through word of mouth, rather than flyers or advertisements, sat around round tables and listened.
The person standing there to explain did not give their name.
They spoke simply, yet gently.
“This is a system for sending ‘thank yous’.
You open the app, choose the person, and add a single thought. That is all.”
On the device screen, there were buttons for "Send Yura" and "Check Aya."
The former is for conveying "gratitude and praise," while the latter is for checking "the accumulation of trust in you through gratitude and empathy."
It is a system where the "record" and "lingering resonance" of interactions are visualized, rather than numerical values.
Who received it and with what feelings is also subtly conveyed through the recipient's reaction.
Through the "few words" or "color of light" returned, the warmth and resonance emerge.
With a soft margin, just like when you receive a letter.
One participant asked,
“Who is the developer?”
To that question, the presenter did not give a clear answer.
“It is someone who found the ‘Verses of the Lamp’ posted on the library bulletin board and resonated with them.
That person brought this system into the world,” they replied with a smile.
The presenter paused for a moment before speaking again.
“Currently, this app is in a trial phase, so we are offering it by invitation to those who resonate with this idea.
If you scan this QR code, the invitation page will appear.”
One of the participants took their device out of their pocket to scan the QR code.
The presenter continued.
“Of course, it is perfectly fine to just listen today.
The timing is not yet decided, but in the future, we plan to transition to a user-referral system,
and once the circle of empathy expands further, we plan to open it to the general public.
If you are interested but hesitant now, I think it would be fine to start then.”
Such information sessions were repeated, and the system gradually took root in the city.
The number of participants in the app also increased with each session.
Rei and Sou were also attending that day's session.
As those who quietly responded to participants' questions,
they watched over the presenter from the back of the venue.
One day, Sou said,
“The ‘Verses of the Lamp’ really did reach people.
If those words have taken ‘form’ like this, then we surely…”
Rei nodded.
Words are sown, someone who receives them gives them shape, and then someone else spreads them further.
The Aya/Yura app continues to evolve quietly even now.
A light that is gently offered when needed, where it is needed.
Rei placed a finger on their device.
They sent one Yura, a "thank you," to the day's presenter.
It was both a beginning and a testament to continuity.
