The Super Striking 'Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw' Woven by Two Bald Men

Whoa...
It's a spin-off of the 'Fast & Furious' series, but
it's still just as crazy as ever...
It was truly a super flashy striking movie
featuring a power-bald guy and a speed-bald guy.

To summarize the story,
Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and
Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham),
who were enemies in the main series' '7',
team up in a big way
to fight against an enemy trying to destroy humanity with a special virus.
Technically, these two fought together temporarily in '8' as well, but

this time they are bonded even more strongly.
(The Japanese title for '8' is 'The Fate of the Furious', but it's long, so I'll just call it '8' lol)
Perhaps because this is a spin-off,

compared to past works, there aren't any so-called 'normal races',
and it's structured more towards hand-to-hand combat and gunfights.
In that sense, the usual 'Fast & Furious' vibe might be a bit thin.
For those who have been watching the series,

this dynamic might be familiar since it was in '8',
but I personally like the 'Weekly Shonen Jump'-esque flow of two former enemies teaming up,
and it's simply cool to see the two of them, with their different fighting styles—power-type Hobbs and speed-type Shaw—fighting together!
Is there any bald guy that cool?
Usually, there isn't!! (lol)
Dwayne Johnson's power-pushing is especially amazing,
but his muscles, or rather, the thickness of his arms, is just insane!
They're like logs, those things.

I even thought, 'Is this Higanjima?'
Plus, since he's 196cm tall and probably weighs in the triple digits,
I bet if you saw him in person, he'd really feel like a Titan from Attack on Titan...
Despite that ruggedness, I love how charming his smile is.
And these two are so funny,
even though they're middle-aged, bald, tough-looking guys,
they bicker like middle school boys whenever they have a spare moment,

and that gap is seriously hilarious.
'I hate your voice that sounds like it's about to say 'Harry Potter' in a creepy way,' or
'Looking at your big face just makes me want to throw up.'
Western movies often use insults to get laughs,
and that's exactly what this is.
If Japanese people did it, it would just sound like plain abuse,
but in English, it sounds like normal sarcasm or dark humor.
But above all, the biggest highlight is definitely the car action!!
It's not like the catch-up-and-overtake style of the past,
but there is definitely a car battle this time too.

The cars fly and jump, and it's so intense that my eyes just stared in disbelief.
I was like, 'What is that?'
'Do cars really jump like that?'

My body and soul were completely taken by the car handling that ignores the laws of physics on par with The Prince of Tennis.

Seriously, you would 500% never see this in a Japanese movie (lol)
No wonder there are nearly 200 names listed under the stuntman section in the end credits.
The scale is just too different.
I watch more movies than the average person, but

there is no other movie that can depict car action with this much flashiness and middle-school-boy energy.
I could only see the regular version today due to time constraints, but
you have to see this in IMAX 3D or 4DX.
It's a movie made for that.
By the way, this is actually the first time I've seen this series in a movie theater.
I'm not originally interested in cars, so

I've always skipped this series, but
I thought I should watch it since it's continued for this long,
so I covered all the films in the past week.
To enjoy today's movie more,
and to understand the characters that appear,
I think you should at least watch from '4' onwards,

and it gets really interesting starting from that '4'.
'1' through '3' are very race-oriented,
and honestly, if you're not interested in cars, I don't think you'll get that hooked,
but from '4' onwards, in addition to racing,

elements from the 'Ocean's' series, the 'Mission: Impossible' series,
and even the 'Terminator' series start to come in,
and the direction becomes full-throttle flashiness, so even if you're not a car lover, you'll be excited!!
That DNA is firmly inherited in this work as well, so
I recommend it when you want to feel refreshed in the summer.
By the way, the ending is like the MCU, so you can look forward to the next one!
