Putting Yourself Last in Love and Relationships | How HSPs Can Stop Being a 'Convenient Person'
Hello everyone🌻!
Thank you so much for always coming to read my posts🥰✨
Your 'likes' are what keep me going🌱💗
To those of you here for the first time, it's a pleasure to meet you🙇🏼♀️!!
My likes and followers are increasing too!
Thank you so much🙏🏼💖
And to those who have purchased my 'paid articles',
thank you so much😭✨
From the first article to the ones I will release in the future,
many of them contain warnings.
(I will also provide things to be careful about and improvement strategies)
Ultimately, it leads to stories about meeting my husband and becoming
happier and happier.
You might have many thoughts at first, but
this is the story of my life.
It's still a long way to go, but...
I will also write about the secrets to married life (we are very close as a couple).
Thank you for your support😆✨
This has become quite long, but a fellow noter mentioned something
that caught my attention, so I decided to write this article🌱🫧
Please proceed to the main topic👇💗
Have you lost sight of your own center and started revolving around others?
HSPs are sensitive to other people's feelings and are full of compassion🙏🏼💓
That is precisely why,
you tend to unconsciously prioritize 'the other person's feelings over your own'.
As a result, in both love and relationships,
you may end up becoming a 'convenient person'.
But what is important is☝🏼💡
'reclaiming your own center without losing your compassion'.
The more you can value yourself, the more
sincerely you can treat others as well😌🫧
Signs that you have lost sight of your own center🔔
✅ Checklist for relationships
You leave the destination and plans for dates entirely up to the other person every time
You decide whether or not to reply to LINE messages based solely on 'whether it will make the other person happy'
Even when you feel anxious or lonely, you hold it in and can't express it, saying 'I'm fine'
You swallow your own opinions because you 'don't want to be disliked'
You accommodate the other person so much that you realize your own hobbies and time have decreased
✅ Checklist for Relationships (Work/Friends)
You take on too much work because you can't say no, leading to burnout.
You listen to friends' complaints or advice even in the middle of the night, leaving you exhausted.
You suppress what you want to say because you don't want to ruin the atmosphere.
You are always worried about your words and behavior so as not to upset the other person.
You say 'yes' to invitations you don't actually want to accept.
When you look at these, you can see that both share the
'habit of prioritizing others over yourself'.
In romance, this is even more true if it's someone you like...
You worry about 'whether the other person will be happy,' don't you?
If seeing the person you like smile is what keeps you going, that's fine✨
At work, some people may feel a desire to be
'appreciated' or 'relied upon.'
But if you take on everything, you might end up regretting it and feeling drained later...
Working hard and being diligent is a wonderful thing✨
However, please don't forget your own feelings as well🙏🏼
Why do HSPs tend to become 'other-centered'?
The fact that HSPs tend to lean toward being 'other-centered' is not a character flaw.
Rather,
that kindness and empathy are major strengths💪🏼💖
🌼 Too much empathy
Because you sensitively perceive the other person's feelings and expressions, you act to
'do something for them' before thinking of yourself.🌼
Caring too much about harmony Because you dislike conflict and friction, you
try to keep the relationship peaceful even if it means suppressing yourself.🌼
Wanting to be a 'kind person' You base your self-worth on 'being useful to others,' and before you know it,
you are self-sacrificing.
If you look at the flip side, this is 'deep affection' and 'a strong sense of responsibility.' But if it goes too far, there is a danger of becoming completely exhausted or ending up in a relationship where you are taken advantage of🌀
From here on, I will introduce specific methods divided into Romance and Relationships📝
❤️ Improvement ideas for romance
① Make it a habit to 'try making suggestions yourself'
When you leave dates and plans entirely up to the other person, your own feelings
gradually fade away.
Even for small things, just trying to suggest, "Why don't we go to the cafe I want to visit today?"
will make your relationship with them more equal.
👉 The point is not to "be selfish," but to
communicate based on a "desire to share"🌱💗
Example: "I'd like to go here sometime, how about we go together?"
② Express your emotions in words
If you suppress feelings like "I'm lonely" or "I want to see you more" and
swallow them, the other person's perspective will become dominant.
Don't hide your emotions; make it a habit to
simply communicate, "This is how I feel".
👉 The point is not to say "You are wrong," but to
use "I feel this way" as the subject🙏🏼🫧
Example: "I felt a little lonely because we couldn't meet."
🤝 Improvement suggestions for human relationships (workplace/friends)
① Practice with small NOs
If you take on everything, your mind and body won't hold up🌀
First, try practicing saying "NO"in low-stakes situations.
👉 At work: "I'm full today, so I'll handle it tomorrow."
👉 With friends: "I'm tired right now, so let me hear it later when I'm relaxed."
By repeating small NOs,
you will cultivate a sense of security that "it's okay to refuse"🌱✨
② Be conscious of boundaries
"This is my responsibility," "This is the other person's responsibility"Drawing a line
is the key to not becoming centered on others.
You don't need to carry the other person's problems too🙆🏼✨
It's okay!
👉 When listening to a friend's complaints,
"I can only listen. Solving it is their role"draw a line in your heart.
👉 At work, if you write down
"my tasks and their tasks"on paper, you will visuallysee the boundaries.
🌸Summary🌸
Because HSPs are sensitive and kind,
they tend to be too accommodating and lose sight of their "own axis".
In love: "Suggest your own feelings," "Communicate emotions honestly"
In relationships: "Repeat small NOs," "Draw boundaries"
By practicing these little by little,
you can "maintain your own axis while being considerate".
What's important is that being considerate of others and
sacrificing yourself are completely different things.
The more you can value yourself, the longer and healthier relationships you can build🌱✨
Starting today, even just a tiny step is fine, so
try asking yourself, "What do I want to do?"That accumulation will bring
big changes to both love and human relationships😌💖
May you be able to take even a small step forward from now on🙏🏼✨
Thank you so much for reading until the end🙇🏼♀️💗
How was it?
Even just the time it takes to have a cup of coffee is fine
Even after you've finished your lunch break is fine
Please, try having a conversation with yourself🥰
