英検準2級 パッセージリーディング攻略法
～返り読みしないで英語を前から理解する練習～
英検準2級の長文問題が苦手な生徒さんを見ていると、
「単語は知っているのに読めない」
というケースが非常に多くあります。
実は長文が読めない原因は、
単語不足ではなく、
「英語を前から理解する練習不足」
であることが少なくありません。
今回は神社についてのパッセージを例に、
私が生徒たちに教えている長文読解のコツをご紹介します。

① まずタイトルを見る

タイトルを見た瞬間に、
「神社についての説明文だな」
と予測します。
長文は最初から最後まで読まなくても、
タイトルだけでテーマを把握できます。

② ディスコースマーカーを探す

英語には
「これから何を話すか」
を教えてくれるサインがあります。
例えば今回の文章では、

が出てきます。
これらは非常に重要です。

を判断することが大切です。

を追います。

文化や歴史を理解する
という流れです。
この流れが見えると、
長文は驚くほど読みやすくなります。
