Yosuke Akiyama, 26 years old. A left-footed left wing-back. He is the man who will become the left-sided spear for JEF, which previously only had the right-footed Sueyoshi. A product of the JEF youth system, he went on to Waseda University after attending Ryutsu Keizai University Kashiwa High School. In 2017, while still a student, he made his J.League debut as a specially designated player for Nagoya, and by overcoming challenges like playing on consecutive days, he helped both Waseda and Nagoya earn promotion to the first division in the same year.
He has skillful ball control and excels in attacking senses such as dribbling and crossing. His style is characterized by hard work on both offense and defense, and if he has no issues with his condition, he should be able to become a first-choice player under Yoon Jong-hwan (though he cannot play in the match against Sendai). I am also looking forward to his coordination with Taishi Taguchi, who has now become the king of JEF.
It makes me, as a fan, very happy that players like Akiyama, who are from our youth system or from Chiba Prefecture, choose JEF again, and it is also valuable in terms of contributing to the local community. Although there have been many painful goodbyes this off-season, I will continue to look forward to receiving more good news like this.
